- Frederick Steven Roach was born on March 5, 1960. He is an American boxing trainer and former professional boxer. Roach is widely regarded as one of the best boxing trainers of all time. He is the enduring boxing coach of the eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, five-time and four-division world champion Miguel Cotto, former WBC middleweight champion Julio César Chávez Jr., three-time world champion James Toney, former UFC middleweight and two-time welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, as well as top prospects Jose Benavidez, Peter Quillin, and Vanes Martirosyan. Roach was the trainer of two-time women's world champion Lucia Rijker. He has also trained former light welterweight champion Amir Khan. Roach was trained by his father Paul Roach at a young age along with his brothers Joey and Pepper. In an interview with Dan Patrick on the AUDIENCE channel, Roach disclosed that throughout his youth, he was involved in over 300 street fights. There are a number of trainers who are much better than Roach, and he knows that. He wasn't that great as a fighter.

@@TJ-Dives I appreciate the respectful response, but as I indicated earlier, there are other trainers that were/are far better than Roach. I repeat, he was not a great fighter.

Pacman went to every trainer in the USA but nobody would take interest in him. Until he met Mr. Roach. You might know the rest of the story. I bet you enjoyed Pacman fights right?
