A few years ago, I found a military poncho and liner up in a cabinet in my dad’s garage. It was a brand new set.

Hey Blackie, been enjoying your videos. I live just south of you in Pensacola. Thanks for showing how to do it in our part of the world. It’s hard to describe just how hard it is to move through our terrain or deal with our climate when talking to northerners or people out west. Hope to run into you sometime. Our little corner of the world is pretty small.

I use a couple of Felix Immler’s little paracord toggle straps to attach.
Once rolled, or even a quick stuff in a bag. Just include the shoulder strap inside the lashing with the toggles.
    Quick on and off.

The woobie will also fit in the MOLLE waist packs, which can be slung crossways like a sling bag.

I throw my liner or a blanket around a separate strap I have, and throw it over the opposite shoulder from my haversack. Distributes the bulk a bit better for me, with the straps crossing x fashion across my chest.

I use an old USMC Hydration pouch to pack my woobie in. Works great.

Even one of those 5x7 throw blankets you see at the Dollar Store or Walmart for some cover in the summer. I cant go without a light blanket

A GI issue "sustainment pouch" will hold a GI issue poncho liner. I have one on each side of my rucksack. One is dedicated to carry my "woobie". Blackie's technique is very similar to the way we'd carry a poncho on a pistol belt.

Wow, the size of that. I would rather carry a down blanket or better still an alpaca / merino blanket. Both warmer and more compact. I have a sheet of DCF and that is also surprisingly warm but it doesn’t breath at all.

I agree alpaca is better and morecompact but also much more expensive and harder to source.
