Thank you, no music, no hype, no driving your car there, just right to the point...thank you, well done video
Went last week and thought I’d struck the motherload! Was gutted they turned out to be falsies 😢
A cruel trick!!
Omg thank u so much! I just started to collect mushroom and this video was sooo helpful.
Finally, a direct explanation. Awesome and thank you.
Youjust saved my gullet. I found the phonys today! 😮
Thank you for sharing you knowledge with us. It was a great presentation and visual 👍
Love this vid!
Almost like fools gold 😂 I remember the first time I found fools gold as a kid
These are so yummy! Thanks for sharing! I’ve been looking all over for these.
Awesome comparison video! Thanks for sharing😊
Great description!
I've always eaten them anyways. Flavor isn't as good but that's what seasoning is for.
Thank you! I just spotted a patch outside my house! ( I live in the wooded country side )
Yum! We found our first ones of the year the other day too😁
@@JamieKunka I’m so excited!!!! This my first forage 🥹 ( Thanks again! 😁)
Does anyone know if it’s by chance their spores just happened to land close to one another or?
Like the turkey tail and false turkey tail mushroom.
Oh how do you tell the difference between those?
@@JamieKunka This short video explains things well, mate: czcams.com/video/9oq6D-Hrm8Q/video.html
@@JamieKunkathe pores at the bottom. Turkey tail has a white porous underside with white around the edges while false turkey tail tends to curve upwards rather than lay flat and has a smooth underside. Turkey tail is also velvety at the top with fine hairs
Thanks!
the stems also look clearly different, color and shape-wise
Can you eat the false chantrelle ?
It’s classed as inedible because apparently it can cause some stomach upset in certain individuals. However I have heard that it’s regularly picked in some countries and also have known a few people to accidentally eat them and not be I’ll.
I wonder what the false Chanterelle taste like does it mimic the flavor 🤔
I nearly ate some at the beginning of my foraging journey and when they were in the pan they actually smelt quite nice! Not really like the fruity chanterelle though. I believe they are eaten in some parts.
The false chanterel is non poisonous and edible, but it doesn't have much of a taste.
Can I ask why you are using a plastic bag like that to pick them?
We were actually on a lunch time dog walk and didn’t expect to find anything so this bag was all I had 🙈 would usually use basket! Like to let the spores spread around of course!
@@JamieKunka that's more or less what I figured, that it was a random find.
