- Here are a bunch of tips with the Analog Rytm, some are for drums but if like me 12 tracks is more than enough for drums, knowing how to use your track/engine differently to create differetn type of sound than drum can take your Analog Rytm to another level !
I skipped the Scene and Perf page as I alrteady made a tutorial about it (see link below), same I don’t go over much the effect but you can find the value of them in the pdf linked below.

Thank you for the great in depth sound design tutorial. For me it is honestly the most helpful so far on YT. I was searching especially for sidechaining. I also like how you are using the different machines in such a creative way, so that you are able to create totally versatile sounds even from the tom machines! I am deciding now if I get the syntakt or the rytm. And one thing I liked about the digital syntakt is that you can put almost every machine on every track position. But with your aproach the rytm seems to be nearly as flexible in regards of sound desingn! Thanks a lot! Great work!
Thanks, I actually sold my rytm and will get a syntakt soon. Mainly because for my workflow the rytm is overkilled as I rarely use the scene/perf mode, even the sequencer I usually resample in Ableton and sequenced in Ableton, or usually just do basic sequence the syntakt can manage. Also I rnever use the sample part so yeah... Syntakt got almost all the machine of the rytm, so it's perfect for me
Thank you for the time and labour you invest. It's just a little recognition for what you do. Thank you for that ❤!
Woaw thanks a lot for your donation ! I really appreciate it, cheers !
Cheers
The more I listen to the RYTM the more I feel at home with the sounds it produces. Such amazing quality core techno sounds. I can only imagine just how much fun it is transforming and performing on this machine.
It's really fun indeed...
Great content man! Very much appreciated to be able to get new sounds out of this machine. Thanks!
you're welcome !
I love my rytm mk2, best instrument ive ever had the pleasure of not only owning but also knowing how to use
always a lot of fun and great sounds !
Thanks bro great tutorial so far, that side chain volume dip is perfect! I've been wondering how to get some kinda sidechaining into my track with the rytm, off to try it now. The rytm sounds amazing for anyone questioning whether to buy it.
You're welcome, yes the rytm got some nice sound, especially the kick
amazing video! would love to see more analog rytm content on your channel! like a part 2 to this video, or a whole video on tom basslines
Thanks I made a tom bassline with Ableton on my channel already check it out
Thank you! Really needed this
You're welcome!

Bought my Rytm two weeks ago had my head stuck in the manual until this video ( bang everything is so much clearer ) ❤ To show my appreciation I bought the Ableton Operator Techno Bank which is also Brilliant. Cheers keep it up😊
happy to hear I could help and thanks for your support !
Great video! Thanks for the tips.
You're welcome!
Thank you for this great tips video on the Rytm! I just upgraded my firmware to 1.70 to get the new machines and Euclidian sequencer modes.
do you like it so far ?
Thanks for all the tips sooo helpful 🙏
Glad it was helpful!Cheers !
Thx again, its very helpfull to get more out of the Rytm!
you're welcome !
This is awesome, thanks a lot!
You're very welcome!
This is the best Rytm tutorial I have seen anywhere - you should consider selling the project file for $
thanks man, there is a pdf available for free, link in the descriptino with all the parameter value for each track
Very helpful. More rytm videos ! Can you do a compressor guide? How to shape sounds
I am gonna be honest, I am having hard time really taking the most of the compressor on the rytm, hence why I don't use it that much !
Very great tips, especially since I don't really like the Toms either haha.
Thanks for this one!
Haha you're welcome !
Thank you mate ! It is so helpfull ❤❤
Glad to hear that! Cheers !
MUCH appreciated! now I go and make some rytm
Make some banger 👊
🔥🔥 Thanks! 🙌🏽
You're welcome!
you give the rytm the love he deserves... ;)
Always haha 😅
You made an acid synth out of the Tom?!! Sounds very nice too. Subscribed!
haha yeah
Yaaay
Thumbs up before watching
Haha cheers mate!
Thanks for the great vid! I have the mki and i wonder if there are any benefits in using your triglock sidechain trick instead of using the built-in compressor with a lowpass? Only thing I can think of is that it allows you to use the compressor for general glueing instead of creating sidechain pump.
but the master compressor will affect all the track no , if you want to apply the effect just to a couple of track ? Plus you cannot adjust the sidechain pumping effect per track no ? Maybe I didn't understood what ypu mean 😅
@@audioreakt Oh, that makes sense! Thank you for your reply, love your content!
Besides my Octatrack, the Rytm is my favorite piece of Elektron gear and I own most of the Elektron boxes except for the cheaper model boxes and Digi boxes.
thaey make great product ineed !
Can’t ever have enough rytm videos from you!
Ever thought of getting the A4?
No because I don't feel it will really add something I don't have already, if I was dawless, I would have probably get one for sure !
@@audioreakt but it would add something to ME!
More awesome tutorials 🤣
It’s nice to have a channel doing such a good sound design in this device.
I’m trying to figure out what is better for me. An Analog Rytm mkt 2 or the digitakt + the syntak.
I need one or the other to create my own drum samples in the studio.. I work a lot with sound design and in the DAW I usually use synth and sample layers to make my own drum sounds.
When I say digitakt + syntak it’s because I’m thinking about syncing the MIDI of the two devices and layering the synth (of syntak) with samples (of the digitakt). Example: in digitakt a clap sample and in the syntak a synth model clap.
I’m trying to figure out which choice has more sound design power.
In the Analog Rytm mkt 2 I can resample… but in the digitakt + syntak it looks like there is a bigger range of sounds for me to tweak and experiment with.
What would be your suggestion?
Thank you!
the rytm seems first a better choice because you have all in one and just need to learn one machine, biut you are also limited to 8 track where with the other combo you will have more track...also synth are pretty limited in the rytm you have the dual vco but that's it... so I would probably go for digitakt+syntakt , especially that i think digitakt have midi track that you can use later to serquenced other synth or machine... I am scared that with the rytm alone you might be limited in number of track available. I will go with the rytm only if it's coupled with another machine/synth to make synth sounds.
impressive
thanks 🙏
Just bought the Rytm and the ANAIV. So impressed tbh. I watch the Techno guy to program DnB :)) Can you copy those triggless volume triggers to all parts in the pattern in one go?
yeah theyu are great sounding machine ! you can copy pattern but not sure about what you ask
thanx!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for your video, amazing as always! I was wondering if I could gently write you in private, I really admire your music/ sound knowledge and I would love to ask you a couple of things it you want! Thanks in advance 🤗
yes send me an email at audioreakt[@]gmail(.)com
Hey AYNIL, what would you recommned as a first piece of hardware for someone who makes deep/hypnotic style techno?
synth or drum machine ? I would say maybe the moog dfam as you can create hypnotic bassline and melodic, ypou can get some nice kick too... the microfreak is great too a rich palette of sound, but the defam got a linear pitch sequencer whoch you can get weird hypnotic melody with...
Thanks for the great video. The link of the Pdf files its not working, can you make it available again? Thanks for your videos and tips.
it works on my side, you might need to right click on the link, copy the link, open a new tab, paste and go. try a different browser if it doesn't works
Merci 🙏
De rien !
THX
You're welcome!
Interesting
What about Making a drum rack with only diva making kick toms and so forth?
I made long time ago a rack with drum sounds like a drum machine only by using Ableton Collision here :czcams.com/video/vAE9HF754Mw/video.html
Hi, I wanted to recreate the sound of 7 MT : Fm Stab however with all the parameter settings copied and double checked it still lacks to create the metallic sound as heard in your performance, all other sounds came out very good, do you have any suggestions how to fix it? Thx in advance
It was the LFO MUL: 1k setting that was off a bit 🤫😇
haha happy you sorted it out !
We need a full track/performance vid!
done it already check the links in the description
I'm considering finally getting my first piece of hardware and the Rytm looks real fun. I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger though, since there's so many things that look amazing, like the TR-8S. Do you have a recommendation for first hardware?
I don't have the tr8s but the tr6s and it's really great too. The tr8s is more versatile than rytm, I would say the rytm handle samples/sampling better than the tr8s, the tr8s is more oriented performance although rytm is good for that too. The analog rytm have a very specific sound that might not please everyone or would say lack a bit of versatility. I loev the rytm for the kick, toms and hats but just make sure you really like these sounds because it's a big investment.
@@audioreakt sorry to jump in but have you had experience with the Machinedrum? Some say it is also very well suited for techno drums, curious to hear ur thoughts. btw great video as always :)
Don't buy the tr8s
@@crunkdwscrew I always wanted to have one, but its's hard to find at a reasonable price... I think it's like with the tanzbar, the osund is great but the sequencing is counter intuitive...
@@antoniobertolini9358 why that ?
If you got the mk1, is it worth upgrading to mk2?
I don't think, there is nothing much extra, and I think all the sound engine are exactly the same
@@audioreakt At least thex painted it black lmao
You should sell a sound bank for the Rytm. There are not many available.
I don't have the time to make one tbh...
AYNIL + Elektron :)
* +DFAM + SubHarmonicon + Minibrute 2s + Microfreak + Sub37 + etc... 😅🤣
You forgot about the other kick drum video
Hardware hab ich auch noch irgendwo.. quasimidi309,MC 303... Haha
nice one!
see the video, sounds good, looking for this product, see the price, go back to Ableton 😪
🤣 that cost an arm indeed
Ableton is not cheap - Ableton also needs a computer - you need to upgrade Ableton and eventually computer. I was stuck in this endless loop before - now with hardware I'm finally free from that mess.
@@a1o1 fair enough, although with hardware GAS is harder to handle than with vst 😅 at least for me
If you don’t care about sampling (it’s not full featured anyway) get a mk1, same engine and it’s the price of a Digitakt.
All You Need Is Live... and an $1800 drum machine.
well don't watch other video of mine because the list goes on 🤣🤣🤣
you pretty much never do that in actual track. good sounding hiihats require a bit more sophisticated tricks
never do what ? filter your hats ? add a slow pitch modulatiion ?
I really need to stop watching these gear videos, I can't afford it
haha it's a guilty pleasure to watch things we can't afford...we all do that..
