    It’s a feature-packed, compact alternative to a Cobra 25/29. If you’re looking for a SSB radio check out our review of the President McKinley.

    THE BEST explaination vid on cbs that I've ever seen! THANKS. I have this little sweet heart in my truck & wanted to learn more about ALL that it could do; you really did an excellent deep dive on its features. Well done 👍
    I've always had Cobras, but decided to go with something different. I wanted quality in a compact & understated housing (less appealing to thieves), & this P.Walker fits the bill & then some. Love it.

      This version being sold now is slightly different. It does not contain the weather receive. Due to changes in the part 95 class D regulations. The weather selector switch is now a mode switch. The radio now contains FM. When in FM mode it will only transmit and receive in the new 6 channel CB FM band.

    Mine has been a great radio, until now. It's 2 years old, and I replaced the 6 pin mic as soon as I bought it because it was too small and hard to hold, and I replaced it with a 4 pin Astatic mic. I bought the adapter and also set the radio to dynamic mic. Everything was working well and all of a sudden, sometimes when I key the mic, it changes the channel. As much as I like the radio, I'm not sure I want to trust another one and now I'm not sure what to buy. It sure won't be a Cobra 29, my last one wouldn't reach more than a truck length no matter what antenna setup I used and I'm obviously thinking it won't be another President brand. Once bitten, twice shy as they say.

    This radio the President Walker is now being sold with FM here in the US. Their were taking pre-orders on Amazon and Ebay. They start shipping December 29, 2021. The weather radio receiver has been replaced with a mode selector switch. It has 40 channels AM mode and in FM mode it will only transmit and receive in the new 6 FM channel. Their is now longer a weather bottom on this radio it is a mode selector switch. The weather channels and weather alert has been replaced. This older version of the Walker may not be available for sale after December 31, 2021. It does not meet the new FCC requirements. Under the new Part 95 class D requirements must include the new 6 channel FM band. Only works in FM.

    since the receiver has a lot of hiss, I don't see any cans that tells me that the receiver isn't very selective you'd still have to have cans to make the receiver selective and there are none. So I would feel that there be a lot of adjacent channel interference

    Question since they are CB radios with VOX, in the united states are radio operators allowed to use digital modes such as PSK31, SSTV, MFSK, AX25, AMPRNet, aprs, ect?

    • @VickyGeagan
      @VickyGeagan Před 2 lety +1

      Answer no you must have an Amateur radio operators licensee. You need to follow the band plan for the band you are operating on. HF, VHF, some areas UHF. Their are restrictions due to military radar interference in some parts of the country.
