Thomas Partey is the best #6 we've got. In fact, when he is in the team, we win. If it was not for the injuries, we would have 2 premier leagues already. When he is playing, he is almost always MOTM. Undervalued.
De Jong is a level raiser. Has also played in the 6 for Barca so he can plug a few gaps and allow us to sign a young DM that can grow within the squad.
Man what hurts me the most is that Thomas Partey every year always it felt like thats it this is the year we're gonna see what partey is all about and every year he maintained an injury twice in the season that keeps him out for 2-3 months. Ever since he came in and now its too old to give us what we wanted when he got signed. Even now it feels like okay this is year of Partey. A top quality DM who literally had it all. He had flair, long shots, forward defence breaking passes and he maintained a slow and fast pace and controlled games. His tackling was top quality and gave us so much time on the ball. his small moments with Arsenal showed us that if he hadn't gotten injured, he would have been close to our Viera. I'm pretty sure, if Partey was injury free last season, we may have had won the premier league as Arteta would not have had to experiment so much in the beginning of the season under pressure due to no Partey. arteta was pressured into moving havertz around and rice around just cause of the gap partey left.
I will have a half season Partey..we all see the criticism regarding rice when he plays the 6, I've said all.alonh that Partey and Georginio makes him look good..play him alone in that middle part and we struggle, the villa game is a prime example. Partey staying is massive for us. Also he had surgery on that issue that persistently took him out so hopefully he is fit for longer
If it's only 15m for Partey, i'd rather keep him for one/more season and let him go on a free. "Losing" 15m for another extra year for Partey is worth it.
If de Jong is fit, de jong all day. But the thing with injury is weird atimes. Partey had a perfect injury record at ATM but not at Arsenal. Cesc had injury issues at Arsenal but had a perfect injury record at Barcelona and you could argue that carzola playing career was done until he left Arsenal, so I won't be surprised if de Jong didn't get injured in his next club and I will admit his qualities are too tempting to ignore 😫
I understand why fans may be getting upset there is a lack of transfer news especially regarding Arsenal signings. The struggle at a title competing level is that there would be less available AND FEASIBLE options in the market who can raise the level of Arsenal's starting 11. Here are some reasons though not exhaustive. Look at the striker department for instance, besides possibly Gyokeres or Osimhen, which other striker can elevate Arsenal above what Havertz does up front? Secondly, PSR. Pretty sure the incomings would be dependent on Arsenal's ability to deal with outgoings, which unfortunately is something they have struggled with for years. Thirdly, even with possible targets on the market, how many of them would be willing to adhere to the player wage structure at Arsenal -- on average most earn less than what players do at Bayern, Barca (highest paid player per week in Arsenal = 333k (Havertz) vs at Barca = 721k (De Jong))
De jong is owed money for taking a pay cut his actual wage is not so high more like 280-300k. Kai and jesus are our highest paid players and that just isnt worth it
