Carrier Reefer code "ALTERNATOR" (What causes it?)

Today we have a Carrier reefer straight truck came in for an ALTERNATOR code.
Diagnosed, and had founded the reefer alternator drive belt had been shredded off completely, and the reefer engine drive belt had been split in half.
The cause of this was an alternator belt idler pulley. It had seized up. The other cause was the reefer engine drive belt was out of adjustment.
I had replaced both drive belts and a new alternator drive belt idler pulley.
