- Come along on this yarn dye experiment! I used food coloring to dye wool yarn and the results will amaze! The swampy forest vibe of this colorway are stunning to behold. Follow on this make along, while I mix food coloring colors randomly, showing you all the steps along the way. It is an easy way to get into yarn dyeing , and it works amazingly on wool!

Finally someone that swatches the final sceins! Thank you! I always wonder how it will work up in knitting or crochet. You really made my day!
Glad it was helpful! It was my first time trying it, so I will continue moving forward!
Beautiful colors, swatch is much appreciated ❤
I agree that seeing the yarn swatched up adds something nice, I enjoy seeing how the colors develop on fabric. These turned out really cool. I absolutely get the vibe of an autumn hike, sunlight dappling a forest floor where little flowers and mushrooms grow.
Thank you so much!
Love the swatches 🙈✨
Gorgeous, so my colours
This yarn turned out beautifully!! I can't wait to the sweater when it's done!!
Thank you! 😊 me too!!!
Just gorgeous when done.
thank youuuu
the swatch helps so much
Awesome, thanks!
I think this one is my favourite!!
I love it too! The knitted sweater I am making is coming out so pretty with the different speckles!
@@LastMinuteLaura yes!! and anyone who hasn’t seen it should watch the stream! ;)
I love the colors!
thanks
Really pretty, Laura. Love it.
Thank you so much! :D
That yarn is stunning!! I love the colors you get every time you dye yarn!
thank you lovely!!
Love how this turned out!
It turned out lovely!!!
I love the swatches ❤️ I'm dyeing yarn for the first time today! Not natural dyes, using the dry Rit dye and going to speckle some Angel/01 baby yarn by Yarn Bee!! I spent 15 minutes last night turning it back into a hank from a skien lol
Did you make your cropped sweater with your most beautiful yarn? Was the 2 skeins enough. Loved the swatch to see how beautiful it worked up.
I'm needing more food coloring 😊
Thank you so much for sharing g this! You've inspired me to give this a go, I'm so excited! I absolutely loved the swatch at the end so please do this in future videos! I'd love to know, if knitted up into a wearable, how does it hold up once it's been washed? :)
Yes, it’s great to see the yarn being used. When you rinse it, do you just use water? Anything to set the dye? Thank you
I just rinsed it in water. The dye was set in the dye pot when we added vinegar! Thanks for watching :)
i for one really get a lot out of seeing the yarn worked up!
i also had a question, b/c i might try dyeing with food coloring: does yarn that is already dyed need to be scoured? i have some red yarn that i bought that i would like to overdye for some color variegation. i also assume it will need to be mordanted.
Great video, will this work with wool roving for wet felting?
Where do you get the white yarn?
for this one it was knitpicks merino style :) I often get my white yarn from knitpicks, or briggs and little though
