  • In this tutorial, I'll show you how to fold an origami ball! This origami ball is called the "Spike Ball," and is a cuboctahedron. Design: Rona Gurkewitz and Bennett Arnstein, published in "3D Geometric Origami: Modular Polyhedra" (1996).
I learned this recently, and it has become an instant favorite. Why? It only requires 12 units (as opposed to 30, 60, or 90...or 100+), and the results are fantastic for the relatively little time spent! You can also make a larger model with 24 units or 54 units. Also, there's nothing wrong with using some glue to make the units stay together permanently. The origami ball will stay together without glue, too.
I hope you enjoy this origami ball tutorial!

Haha, well, I hope your octopus will help you! :-) If you want something that's easier to assemble, you can try this one. It only requires 6 units! Enjoy! :-) DIY Flower Cube - Crafts Tutorial (EASY)

      +Tamia Bobien I believe I used 3" x 3" squares, but 4" x 4", or 5" x 5" squares will be a comfortable size to work with, as well. It'll work as long as it's a square. :)
