Not only do I have faith and trust in you, you can see for yourself that I have confidence in us, our future together. Other couples try to do what we're doing putting our house together. Some other couples never do it. They're other people, not us. And we are our son, you and me.

It's true foreigner can't buy to own a land and a house here but, the foreign spouse can inherit a property just like a local spouse rights.
A spouse can inherit 50% of the property and the 50 is for the kids to share with.
But, If you don't have kids as long as the deceased spouse doesn't any will to order who can inherit automatically it would belongs to the surviving spouse

For example, my sister will inherit one of my mother property. Her husband (US citizen that can't afford a house or land in USA) is LUCKY THAT HE MARRIED TO FILIPINO FAMILY THAT IS NOT POOR
Another example. I have a friend who married a gastrointestinal specialist medical doctor (specialist in the USA). Her husband stays at home (US citizen).

    • @bayareatanders

You can own a condominium or a townhouse if you are a foreigner. You can also lease land for 25 yrs and extend it to another 25 to 50 yrs. You can also have a corporation with 60% owned by a Filipino to purchase land which is not advisable unless you are a multi-national corporation. By then you should have earned a profit by building rental units or a farm if it’s an agricultural land. Then you die happy.

I'm faced with this dilemma, whether to get some land in the province for a mini farm/house. Of course it will need to go into my partners name. Always a bit tricky, if you do nothing you are reasonably safe but you never build a future so you are just marking time before you check out. Alternatively, you do build something and it all turns to crap and again you have lost time, money and opportunity. I will be talking to a lawyer when I get back to the Philippines to see how I can mitigate the risk, no doubt there will be ways to achieve this. At 66 yrs old I don't have a problem with making her secure when I pass on, in all probability long before she does, you can't take it with you. Time will tell. Cheers Aussie John

@1Thucydides Not too sure about either the so called "evidence or the alleged cognitive dissidence". I've spent my fair share of time in the Philippines, yet to be scammed by a Filipina that I've known/romanced. I realise that It can happen but I would argue that you have far more likelihood of being Financially Butt Raped in your home countries than by a wisely chosen Filipina. In our countries there are 50% - 70% divorce rates and as men we get totally screwed, my last divorce cost me well in excess of a million dollars in cash, more than that in opportu ity costs and many years of my life. Seriously, considering the costing in the Philippines, how much do you think a Filipina could cost me. You need to stop being a chicken little after listening to CZcams content designed to catch your attention and generate views. Yes, there are people who get caught, most of the time these people thought with their little head and they basically ally did it to themselves. We have all heard it ad nausium, "she got the scooter I bought her, she got the TV, I wasted money on her friends, I invested in a business that didn't work out ect ect". Like seriously, grow up. If you want to build anything then there will be risk involved. Like in the Shawshank Redemption " Either get busy living or get busy dying". Meanwhile time stands still for no man. Just my two bobs worth. Cheers Aussie John
