I could just drop into your shop and get to work right away! Got myself a very similar setup. Great to see one that has grown through hard work overhauls and repairs. Had to do it the hard way too, lots of searching and collecting. Refreshing to see it being kept real in these days of expensive designer workshops that are all over tv these days! The tv programs are like adverts for Bailigh ,Snap on etc-so far removed from reality. You have my respect sir.
Andrew Wilson
I like the idea of the two bench vices in line with each other on the long table. Very nice clean well kept shop. Impressive. Must be nice to have 400A to work with. I went from a 50A service in my old shop to an off-grid generator set up in my present temporary shop. Using my Miller 300D NT and a little 3500w generator for now. Hoping to upgrade to a larger generator eventually. I can really appreciate the importance of an adequate electric service. Very nice tour. Thank you!
Huck Finn Thanks!
I’m so glad I taught Jim everything he knows about welding and building. Run with it bro!
Bahaha....
Thanks for putting this vid up for everyone to appreciate! I'm planning my shop at the moment and stumbled across yours while browsing - gotta say yours is one that appeals to me the most out of everything I've seen. Thanks again!
Man, I am watching from Africa. You are a very organised person. Very clean workshop. Great. Thumps up!!!!!!!
Really love you shop !!! It is the real definition of a Man Cave. Love how it is so clean and organized , and the great assortment of machines and tools to do practically anything. Consider yourself a lucky and fortunate person.
Like your shop, by the looks of things you are living my dream
Nice shop. Thanks for the tour Jim.
I am happy because I found what i want to be when i grow up and that is Machinist for now I am A helper at the Machine shop I want to learned all the things that should i need to know I am greatful to see your vlog sir💕💕
very nice especially if it's on the same property as your house. I really like the fact that you bargain shop and revive machinery to use. also I like the fact that everything has a place and is well taken care of. customers feel much better taking items to an organized clean shop. I'm envious of the cool setup.
+Tombomb1816 , Thanks, yes the shop is located on the back of our old farm. It's close to the house so I can stop during the day and spend a few minutes with the kids, or help the wife. I am defiantly a bargain shopper. I have learned to stretch a dollar till it's so thin you can read the news paper through it. I love bringing new life to machinery/equipment. I am more of a get it working correctly kind of a guy, where as The Basement Shop Guy (Brad) Makes his stuff better than new. Stay tuned to the channel, The shop is currently under renovations from some storm damage and some reorganization to make my work flow better. I am going to make another shop video to show all the changes/repairs.
Ummm..... WOW!!!! The Absolute BEST Equipt Shop, that I've EVER seen!!
VERY NICE!!!
Awesome shop Jim! You have some really nice machine and tools, and I love the layout. I appreciate the shop tour, thanks for sharing with all of us. Congrats on getting the channel started up, and were all looking forward to seeing some project videos.
Adam
+Abom79 Thanks Adam, It's a never ending project....You know what I mean, always thinking about an addition.....More room, more room, Press brake, sheer, Horizontal mill, CNC plasma......
Thanks for the tips about the Rotary Phase Converter, thats a great idea! Awesome workshop!
I love this. I just turned 20 and I have been on my own for a year now and I am trying to start my own fab business. I have several customers whom I make tables for on a regular basis as well as trailer repair and pipe fencing. Everything I have as far as tools is in my truck. This is motivating!
Thanks for the tour, It gives me some ideas for my future shop.
Hey Jim,
Great shop, lot's of space, very clean and well organized! Thanks for the tour buddy!
Regards,
Ray
Very well laid out shop, Jim. Great tour! Nice explanations for each piece of equipment. I liked that. I lost count of how many welding machines you have, but it's nice to have one near where you need it.
I'm looking forward to seeing your projects. I think you bring some interesting knowledge and experience into the CZcams community. Thanks for sharing!
Nice shop Jim. Good to see other guys set up. I also just added the swag table in my shop handy tool.
We haven't yet needed a fire extinguisher at home, but dad's always been adamant about keeping them everywhere, every bathroom has one under the sink, as well as under the laundry room sink, theres at least two in the kitchen that I can think of, one in the basement, and a few more in the garage. We try and keep then in places spread around the house, with a heavier concentration around places that fires are more likely to start, like the kitchen and garage.
Beautiful workspace. Thanks for sharing.
+Miguel Torres Thank you!
Now That Is A DREAM SHOP...VERY Nicely Done Jim. Very impressive.
You said you had 400 amps split. I did the same thing when I re-wired my house...brought 400 amps from the pole and split it 200 to house and to my small 16 ft sq. shop
Jim, I enjoyed meeting you at the bash, and really enjoyed the shop tour. Thanks for sharing!
Really nice shop and really nice video. Thank you for taking the time!
+Arlyn Smith Glad you enjoyed.
Jim, love the shop... I recently moved out of. 10,000 building( long story) and setting up shop at home.

-Mario
I was impressed when you showed your hardware and said that it was all SAE no metric junk,
Amazing shop by a mile!!
Hello Jim

Sam Medelin...Nice touch! His memory is now secured!

Really nice tour Jim. Lots of room. I like it. I have subscribed now lets see some projects LOL. Have fun, be safe, video lots!
good shop , carefully built , looks a lot of passion. I want to setup a small shop .
Amazing shop !😱
Hi Jim, Very well organized shop and super clean. You could get more room for the CNC when you move the end feed table outside and side the band saw back to where your walk-thru is. Feed the metal thru a hole in the wall.
great shop guy well done
Nice tour and nice shop, sure is clean. Thanks, Jim.
+Randy Richard Thanks, Randy!

Nice shop and tour. I'll try to remember that Ellis name brand when shopping in the future.
hi, I enjoyed your video, being a farmer in a large farm community I've been in alot of shops and never saw one as clean as mine (I'm ocd) ..........until I watched your video! I love how you keep it clean, neat and tidy! most think you can't keep a shop clean and use it too but they are wrong. just takes hard work! I mostly rebuild engines so I like to keep mine as spotless as I can. my friends tease me all the time about it but guess who they come to when they want something done or to borrow a tool LoL. now I'm inspired to do another shop video. thank you!!!
Kris Morse
Very nice shop. One day i'll put up a shop like this with vintage lathes and stuff.

+DoRite Fabrication Thank you!
As a retired brother to another brother love the shop! I have to make do with a 22x22 . Lol
Great clip thankyou.
, very very nice shop, would be a dream to work in all that space. Stainless counter tops, free standing tools, well organized, long tables, easy to keep things clean and in place. appreciate the tour..........great place!.......auto feed for the Mill table would be a nice project ....you need one.
+Rick L Thanks Rick, I would LOVE a power feed for the mill.....It just doesn't fit in the budget right now. It's always good to have goals. Gives me something to work toward....right? lol
+Rick L ....power feed project, ......a motor from wiper or car window....lots U-tube videos on making one...........fabrication right!......lol......
+Rick L Oh Rick, don't get me thinking.......I'll never sleep! Lol
nice meeting you at the get together, nice shop and super clean, like it
+Ed Ginsberg Nice meeting you too. The get together wasn't long enough....I wanted to visit with everyone more!
DoRite Fabrication I agree, and next time don't go having anything messing up your fun, LOL! Nice to meet both of you guys...Aloha, Chuck
Thanks Jim for the tour... I am envious!!! Live not to far from you. East side of Orlando next to Lake Pickett. Look forward to future bids ... Bob
+rbmgt81 Bob I graduated from Oviedo High. Back in WWll...lol
Hey Jim. One suggestion. With your blast cabinet, get some rubber sheeting ; Mcmaster-Carr# 8630K153 or what ever size you'd need, hang it with a riveted strip from the top and ends on the inside of your cabinet. This will keep your cabinet from wearing through and also minimizes contamination when blasting S.S. or Aluminum.
Hey NewGuy, welcome and can't wait too see what you have to offer.
+Dennis Skerb Thanks! I have a lot more coming. Stay tuned.....
Very good man i wish to hafe a shop like that
Nice shop with lots of room :-)
+Dave Bassett real estate, the most valuable thing in my shop!
Wow... You have a really nice job shop....Great Video....You gave me some ideas for mine.......Thanks Don M.
+Donald Marland Well that's great! hope to do a new shop tour video soon as there has been some new equipment (to me) added that required a reorg of the shop. Stay tuned so you can check it out.
Nice shop. Typically residential garage floors are sloped towards the door. Although mine is so old it slopes in every direction :)
Great shop Jim, mine is more of an oversized shed and welding is done under a shade tree. LOL
Just a little bit AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Matthew Gischus Thanks!
Hey Jim, it's Chuck just dropping in to say "Howdy". I hope things are going well enough, I know it must be tough if this is what I saw in the photos you kindly shared with me on what should have been a "stress free" weekend. This is certainly a good inventory of what fine equipment you have if any of it got wounded...I can only imagine how you must've felt.
Man, I sure do wish I was just down the way so I could come help out, but it sounds like you've got a good circle of friends and family to pitch in an get things buttoned up. Best of luck with everything, and I'll stay in touch...Aloha, Chuck V.
Hey neighbor! I bought the steel tubing for my gantry crane from a horse pasture in Groveland. Now I know where to get my aluminum welding done.
Mike
+allsortsofinterests Don't tell people about this little slice of heaven out here. It's not crowded, if you tell them they will come.......
You should get a plasma CNC table like a 2x2 or 4x4 would be perfect for you I bought a 5x10 from plasma cam for my shop and i make my own parts and designs and I sell some to customers and it saves a lot of money.
Jim very nice shop I like the layout you have I like to see how other people have there shops set out so i can copy the bits I like in mine .Do you have air conditioning like Adam Booth and do you have problems with surface rusting with the high humidity in your area . Also you missed out what the wall storage units are for in your shop tour.
very good camera work and presentation
I look forward to your future posts
Gary
Sweet, one day...
Thanks man
That's a nice setup. There isn't much you can't do in there. Not sure what type of clamps you use. But I've destroyed quite a few of those black bessey clamps at work. The posts just don't hold up to pressure like some of the old school stuff we've got around the shop.
Great layout thanks for the personal tour
+James Spires Thank you!
That's a man's dream right there.
I never would have thought your shop was that big. it only looked like you had a regular garage
The shop is around 1200sf. It's a little to cozy sometimes when I am working with bigger projects, but I am blessed to have what I do.
Abom79 sent me over to your channel ..You have a nice shop I will be checking out your other videos also
+not2fast4u2c Thanks for the kind words! Stay tuned, I have lots of videos to share.
nice shop, beats the heck out of mine.
+Jack COOK Thank you!
wish I knew you when I was living in orlando.
Nice set up filled with good machines. I subscribed so I can check out more of your videos. Jeff
+JRD77VET Thanks, stay tuned....
That is a really nice shop. Clearly you love your welders! I think your shop may have more welders than mine has wall plugs. lol What size is it? Something around 30x40?
Hey just subscribed. Linked from abom79. I like your clean shop, totally uncluttered. Looking forward to your videos. I'm always learning from others so I hope you have plenty of advise in fabrication.
+doug pitt I will try to pass along all that life has taught me. I have learned a lot fabricating/repairing/restoring over the years, I certainly don't know everything though, just give me five minutes I'll prove it. LOL
Hey I love that shop and I’ll assume you actually work for a living or won the lottery.I don’t have anything on that scale but I do love the ports band saw,I’ve been wanting to do just that for ever but I’ll get to,cut off angle grinder is great but am looking forward to an up grade
Digging all the Ellis machines as well as the Swag off Road pieces.........
+Rick L I like both, because they are quality, and they employ Americans right here in the USA.
I agree awesome shop. I've been trying to organize my shop like your's for about 35 year's still hasn't happen. I to would like to know what size is your shop also what is the primary type of work you do {welding is a given n a little machine work} Thanks
+dieseltrk99 My shop is 30 x 40. I have a 14 x 30 shed next to the shop that I keep supplies and such in. I use my shop like a job shop, wrenching, fabricating, restoring.......
On your lathe,Tubalcane has some neat video on manufacturing your own parts.
THAT IS ONE HELL OF A SHOP IN A GREAT AREA,,, THANKS FOR THE TOUR . JUST A QUICK QUESTION DO YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW ANY GOOD TRANSMISSION SHOPS IN YOUR AREA HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE SHOP MY TRANSMISSION IS AT RIGHT NOW . ITS BEEN THERE FOR THE LAST FOUR MONTHS AND IT'S JUST A 1998 3.0 LITER FORD WINDSTAR WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE THE HELP THANKS .
How do you like your Lincoln welders? I dont know if I should purchase an arc or mig welder for around the house projects..
I'm looking into starting my own metal works shop ,I have red seal auto repair ticket ,and I can weld ., I like your shop ,great ideas , my uncle has 20,000 plus sqf in Fiji island ,makes farm machinery,
wtf, no air compressor?
amazing shop. thanks for sharing
Sweet looking shop guys! Let me know if you are looking to add to it
4:27 - I found one of those big wrenchs just like that rusting away in the dirt on our farm. My guess was it was for fire hydrants? I hung it up on the wall as art... then my dad stole it again (I assume it had been his) and I have no idea where it went... I haven't found it anywhere in his shop after he died... now I know how to derust it, I'd derust it and add it to my own big set of tools for who knows what someday... pass on to the next generation.
Nice shop! Does that Ellis bandsaw have coolant?
Can you show more about your 3 phase generator?
