How Do Polish Villagers React To a Black Foreigner? (Social Experiment)

  • There is a stigma around black people when it comes to traveling in certain countries, especially in Eastern Europe. Is it because some people of colour complain about their experiences in European countries as a minority and how they think they are not treated well? In my travel videos across Europe I have been documenting my own reality of life as a foreigner and my experiences on how I engage with the local people I come across on my journeys where ever it is on or off the camera all of my encounters are the same.. My travels are comfortable and enjoyable and definitely loads fun. I do not feel like a victim or threatened because my colour when I travel. I believe this channel can educate people from an aspect that not all people of colour are always discriminated or judged, this can be seen in all my films from me showing my encounters in some of the most remote places I have visited in Europe such as, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and England. Although I know some people are racist but for their own reasons.. What advice can I give to anyone that wants to travel no matter the country you travel to or what your colour is. Be fearless, friendly and open to learn a few phrases for interactions, because I know it takes a lot of effort for people and confidence to approach a random stranger and start a conversation and that’s what my spontaneous village travels are about - interacting with the locals and showing how life is on the outside of the big cities and towns. Watch me on this village tour which is far from a touristic location where foreigners usually don’t go. Let’s have look how the Polish people interact with a foreigner. I Took The Wock To Poland. 😎

Gen Z and Millennials it's 90-95%, btw he went to literal 900 people village that is quite poor as you could see by cars etc. People forget that Poland isn't an Eastern European country and that's sad, nobody would call Norway or Sweden Eastern European yet they have no problem with calling country that has just 1% of it's terrain in Eastern Europe lol. Culturally Poland couldn't be further from Eastern European too. We are the 19th economy in the world.

    Dear Andre, I hope you can fund more of your travels with these 'hidden' educative videos.
    I saw it randomly, attracted by the apparent title image, which picks up on the curiosity of people with a particular bias and assumptions, then I watched it whole while making pancakes with my little daughter and showing her what our Polish villages look like; it was so random and authentic, and it felt like we were walking there with you; we enjoyed these encounters with you. My daughter has never seen her country of origin (yet), and I was happy to show her a little in this way.
    There is much more to say about your video, but after reading your descriptive info above, it all makes sense now. Your excitement about seeing hens is hilarious; been living in the city too much?;-) By the way, this was not a local museum but the backyard of someone's house, haha. Careful entering someone's backyard sometimes, but with your open and friendly attitude, people certainly feel relaxed, curious and refreshed wherever you go. I would like to see such a random village video of yours from a country like Tunisia, Kuwait, or Bahrain.
    Polish people (and people in all countries) are generally curious and open-minded toward encounters and meeting people from other cultures and people who look different. But once immigration reaches some critical mass, certain groups of people stop being open and see them as a threat. We are still far away from societies being united and living a new reality that is not 'them against us'. I doubt this will be possible, assuming this is engrained in human nature of survival. This an important topic requiring research about it to be known globally and locally in all corners, so we can all relate more and understand how our worlds work.

      I don't think it's fair to say that people are more racist in more remote areas with less foreigners. They will be more cautious, curious, suspicious even, but this does not mean that they are xenophobic or racist.
      Multicultural and ethnically diverse cities are not utopias just by the virtue of their existence, and when you see large amounts of migrant workers and refugees in an area you can also see increased levels of racism among some working class populations whose traditional position in society is being undermined by increased competition for reduced wages. Studies show that immigration has a net positive effect on a country's gdp, but also that it has a negative impact on the working classes, the gap between rich and poor increases, but at least the gdp stats look good

    • @DrakesGhostWriter
      @DrakesGhostWriter Před 3 dny

      Of course trespassing is a thing, but we don't own guns etc. So the most you might find is confused dude asking wtf are you doing running on his yard screaming to his chickens xD. He was almost right in that it indeed was a museum (from what I heard) but just the house part and invite only, that little wooden house is a "museum" as it's over 200 yo. Fun fact, Poland is in top 5 (non-natively ofc) countries that speak English, with almost 50% of people 45-55 speaking some (A2-B1) English, even in rural parts like in the video, and 40 and under in 90% cases they can keep up with a conversation so it should be quite easy going for English speakers especially in the cities. 30 and under speak fluent English more often than not but a lot of us is quite shy and afraid to make mistake so we try to avoid speaking English even though we can. Usually because of teachers being very unforgiving and prioritizing correct grammar and pronunciation over words used in conversation knowledge. I'd prefer to speak someone who messes up times and says "did you gone to the church right now?" without stuttering etc. than using correct time, correct form of past/present verb. but having to wait a minute until he speaks that "sentence". Oh and if people over 45-50 doesn't speak English then they for sure do either German, Russian or French. We have to learn English since 5yo, then at 12 we choose second language usually German or French now, we don't learn Russian anymore. So it's easy to find some 20 yo who speaks fluent Polish, English, Basic (B1-B2) French and basic (B1-B2) German because kids often change German for French and vice versa while going from middle to high school lol.

Jedynie słowa mamy z niemieckiego i to nawet dużo więcej, niż z angielskiego zabranych, a przynajmniej u nas na zachodzie Polski tak jest. "Papier toaletowy" wziął się z Niemieckiego toiletenpapier. We, Poles, are not racists, these are rumors from people who have fallen against us. Of course we respect black, yellow or brown, regardless of origin. If you are a black person but behave like a civilized person, you are welcome in our country, and people will generally be nice to you. However, if you behave like an angry ape or try to play gangster, you will be razed to the ground in our country, regardless of your background or skin color. We don't have any problem with foreigners, we only have a problem with those who try to mess with us. So be nice in Poland, treat people with respect, and you get same back. And if you are looking for a provocation, you will find it very quickly.

    Polish Haitians (Haitian Creole: Polonè-Ayisyen, colloquially: Lepologne; Polish: Polscy Haitańczycy, Polonia w Haiti, Polacy w Haiti; French: Haïtiens polonais) are Haitian people of Polish ancestry dating to the early 19th century; a few may be Poles of more recent native birth who have gained Haitian citizenship. Cazale, a small village in the hills about 30 kilometres (19 mi) away from Port-au-Prince, is considered the main center of population of the ethnic Polish community in Haiti, but there are other villages as well. Cazale has descendants of surviving members of Napoleon's Polish Legionnaires[1] which were forced into combat by Napoleon but later joined the Haitian slaves during the Haitian Revolution. Some 400 to 500 of these Poles are believed to have settled in Haiti after the war.[2] They were given special status as Noir
