  • Camping at Cape Henlopen State Park in our Outdoors RV travel trailer was a bucket list item for us. The park is one of Delaware's hidden gems. Watch as we explore what it's like to camp at Cape Henlopen. It offers some cool military history, beaches, hiking, riding trails and a very unique geographic environment.
    If you're ever passing through Delaware, make it a point to explore Cape Henlopen State Park!

      Thank you for commenting! Cape Henlopen was always my (Glynn) favorite place to go as a kid. Hopefully our boys will also have fond memories. Wishing you well!

    Great video! It is good to see the boys getting involved in setup. It wont be long until you two can go have a coffee while they handle it all! I am also stunned at the beauty of Henlopen. Even in spite of 2 years of travel, there was still so much we didn't see.

      Thank you! We feel the same about the amount to be seen all around the country. Yes, we look forward to the boys taking on more responsibility as we progress. That will feel good in so many ways.
      Cape Henlopen has a unique beauty that's not found anywhere else in Delaware. The state park has done a great job at preserving and showcasing the history of that region. We're torn between the two environments. We love the mountains of the west, but we also love the ocean.
      Thanks again for the comment!

      @@ResetYourJourney If you ever decide to come into Canada, i would suggest checking out the Okanogan, then after that you need to keep heading to Banff and through to Lake Luise and up into Jasper. Much of the scenery and even building architecture of some of the towns there are reminiscent of Switzerland. It is simply stunning landscapes found almost nowhere else.

      I've heard similar descriptions before about that region. We do hope to make it into Canada during part of our travels.

      @@ResetYourJourney It really does live up to the travel brochure. In fact I would dare say the brochure criminally undersells Lake Luise.

    Hello RYJers! This was a really cool stay!! Thank you very much for sharing your time there with us. When I was stationed in NC, we would go camp on the outer banks in the winter months (well, it is only an NC winter) a lot. We really enjoyed it then. My daughter and I are the water hounds, so we would still flirt with brief water incursions. My son and wife were more into just beachcomning and looking for sea treasures on the beach. The crowds were dramatically less then too.
    Very cool military remnants there. Whew....there was such an unsung effort to protect our shores during world war 2 (how apropos on Pearl Harbor Day today).
    Safe travels!

      Thank you for the kind words Alan! Cape Henlopen is one of the few places in DE I'm really fond of. It is astounding how much effort we put into protecting those shores during that period of history, but it makes for some really cool history. I believe we would partake in the Outer Banks more if they were less congested. We tend to go where the crowds are thin instead. Thanks again for the comment!

    Thank you for the video. I’m guessing that you had no sewer hook up, just water and electric . I liked site 19 but I didn’t catch the loop you were in . Do you guys recall the month you were there ? TYIA

      @ResetYourJourney  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Thank you so much for commenting Bill! I believe we were there for this particular video in November. You are correct, RV sites have water and electric, but no sewer. The dump station is easily accessible on the way out of the campground. We found all the sites to be in good proximity to all activities. Thanks again and we wish you well!

    I am seriously contemplating the ORV Backcountry 24KRS or the 24 toy hauler. However I am also going to have to purchase a truck as well as I don’t think my 4Runner will be able to pull that. Do you find that the 250 is enough or should I consider 350Regardless I’ll probably go with gas versus diesel.

    • @ResetYourJourney
      @ResetYourJourney  Před rokem +1

      The difference is what the rear axle of the truck can handle. A 350 allows peace of mind with any size rig. If a 350 had been available when we bought our truck, that's what we would have purchased. If you get a toy hauler, you'll appreciate the 350. I hope that helps. Good choice on the ORV, by the way. Thank you for commenting and following along!

      I am really enjoying it and I love the fact that you’re from Delaware. we don’t see many east coasters. I live in Maryland just outside DC but often drove through Delaware on our way to Ocean Pines. Now I have to convince Beckleys to start carrying the ORV as there are no dealers east of Nebraska. 😂

    • @ResetYourJourney
      @ResetYourJourney  Před rokem +1

      Finding an ORV in the east is difficult. But the quality is worth the drive west to make a purchase. We've pulled ours back and forth so many times and it asks for more. Now that we're navigating toward a hybrid lifestyle, we're considering selling ours to downsize even more. If we do, it will be very difficult to let it go.
      It's ironic that you have a 4runner. That's what I sold and replaced with our f250. I hope you're able to find the ORV you're looking for. I can say this much; the community of ORV owners is unlike any other. They're kind, intelligent, educated, helpful and welcoming. That in itself is worth ownership. Wishing you well!
