  • Open for the debut of the morning newscast on the then-WB Affiliate in New York, New York, recorded on June 5th, 2000.
This was the debut newscast for WPIX's Morning Newscast, which would be seen as a competitor to WNYW's Good Day New York in the following years. The latter would still be ahead in the ratings throughout the next 7 years of the show's existence, but then the lead would be tightened by the 2008 sweeps period.
The graphics are an in-house job at Tribune, The music is "WB11 Morning News" by Non-Stop Music, and the announcer is Jim Cutler (who sounds rather happy for this open).
The anchors mentioned in the open are Lynne White (has since left the industry), John Muller (still works at WPIX as a weekend anchor), Linda Church (has since retired), Lynda Lopez (currently on radio station WINS), Larry Hoff (whom I guess retired), Craig Treadway (still works at WPIX as a reporter), Kirstin Cole (also at WPIX as a reporter), and Melinda Murphy (now an executive producer of Expat Living).
