    Thanks for this review. I present in a different setting weekly, at which I have very limited time to actually do any sort of setup, and so "mobile" and "ease of use" are paramount for me. I'm wondering though, if there's a workaround for CZcams's "minimum 1000 followers" for streaming with a phone? Like, will this work with my Surface Pro (without additional 3rd party software like OBS)?

    • @WexPhotoVideo
      @WexPhotoVideo  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey Gordon, I don't think you can stream via phone if you have under 1000 subs, without the use of 3rd party software. Although I do know there are some apps you can get to help you with this! I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure Streamlabs can bypass the 1000 subs feature for you, so it may be worth looking that up! Thanks for watching, George.

  • @SunStreamInfraredSauna

    Thanks for the review. Very informative. I'm wondering if I use 3 of the Movo cameras and the multi-cam app to record, am I recording the selected 1 of 3 cameras to my phone with the app or am I recording to the 3 separate SD cards in the cameras? I don't stream at all but it would be cool if I can use the app to switch between 3 different camera angles and have it record in one place on the phone app. thx

    What worries me is that when you are using the camera, what I see is a soft lagging jagged video shot. Is that just what you see on the phone and the streaming video is buttery smooth?

    • @WexPhotoVideo

    • @WexPhotoVideo
      @WexPhotoVideo  Před 2 lety

      Hi Christine, personally I think this would be a great option for this kind of thing, as long as you have the ability to run it into some software (such as OBS) to easily switch between the camera angles during the stream. Hope you enjoyed the video! George.

    • @WexPhotoVideo
      @WexPhotoVideo  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, I use a range of tripods, and almost any one will work well for the Mevo due to the small size of the camera. The one I'm using currently is the Gitzo GT1545T, (which you can find linked below) although a less expensive one would also work great for use with the Mevo. Hope you enjoyed the video, George.

    Thank you for this review. I have a question. Can I use it as a webcam for conferences in Microsoft Teams and Google Meet?
    I am carrying out virtual workshops which are not live-streamed but only held through a Teams or Zoom conference call.

    • @WexPhotoVideo
      @WexPhotoVideo  Před 3 lety +2

      Yes you can! I actually use it myself as my webcam. You need to download and run OBS, set it up as a Video Capture Device, and then select 'Start Virtual Camera'. Then you can go on Teams or your preferred software and you can select it as one of the options. I hope that helps! George

    what about doing "multi camera" streams with 3 mevo starts?

    • @WexPhotoVideo
      @WexPhotoVideo  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes you can, there's an app called Mevo Multicam designed exactly for that purpose, you can even add graphics onto your stream through the app too. I've not used it myself as I only had one Mevo Start, but from what I've seen it offers the same features and simple usability as the Mevo app I was using in this video. I hope this helps! George

  • @poppinmelon7036

    How does this stack up against the Logitech Brio 4K?

    • @WexPhotoVideo
      @WexPhotoVideo  Před 3 lety +2

      They are very different cameras, the Logitech is a webcam, so it's good for streaming but it can only be done whilst connected to a PC, and has no audio whatsoever. So the Logitech is only really going to be appropriate for streaming whilst using a PC (gaming etc.) with an external mic. Whereas the Mevo enables you to stream purely using the Mevo and your smartphone, and therefore is an all-in-1 streaming camera, as oppose to a webcam, so I think it's worth considering what your primary use for it is going to be. I hope that helps! George

      Good question, I think there are quite a few reasons someone would prefer this, for example some would find the Image Stabilisation or the simplicity of connecting your own microphones to the product a big plus.
      But for me there are 2 main feautures this product has that phones do not offer. The first one is a 6 hour battery, I don't think I'm aware of any phones that could stream continuously for 6 hours.The other reason is the NDI capabilites, the ability to connect it to a PC, and run it through software such as OBS is extremely useful. It means you can add overlays, vision mix between multiple cameras and do all of the amazing things that streaming through a PC allows (I've even been using it as a webcam in meetings). As far as I'm aware it's the cheapest NDI camera on the market (correct me if I'm wrong!), therefore the price point allows the user to start off with simpler streams, then as they get more confident they can start introducing a more 'professional' workflow and look to their streams. I hope that answers your question and thanks for watching! George
