    Prior to '68 330s had a 15th fret neck joint. They changed it to the 19th fret like the 335 in '68. I believe they still had Brazilian rosewood fretboards in '68. Obviously need some work done on the bridge. lol

    I have the exact same guitar. It sounds so fat and woody. The output is lower than a PAF but the tone is way more mid rangey. Mine doesn’t have tulip tuners, I suppose they tulips are not original?

    So it’s not an original example? Nickel hardware? Don’t think chrome was used...am I wrong? 67’s had nickel hardware...did it change in 68?

  • @Shadowschmatt53
    @Shadowschmatt53 Před 2 lety +1

    1968 ES-330s have Chrome pickup covers which keep their shiny appearance over time, a long scale neck, Indian rosewood fretboard (early Indian rosewood of this time was usually really good stuff, you sometimes have to look closely to identify it vs Brazilian), NOT tulip style tuners, so those are probably not original, just basic Kluson deluxe tuners, and these guitars are often very alive and will howl so you have to tame them a bit when you play them.

      You'll almost never find GOTD on the website if it is a desirable model like this (most are). These videos are their first introduction to the public and they generate calls probably almost immediately. Purchases are typically fast, I think.
