What makes you think the hellcat was winning? 9.6 (supra) vs 9.9 (hellcat redeye), which means supra finished .3 seconds faster than the hellcat. The supra was also going 162 mph, while the hellcat is only 131mph.

The 2jz engine was a poor design. They had a hard time with it running clean and passing emissions. That being said. One of the most over rated engines on planet earth. It had a short life span. Toyota tried everything to save that dirty running engine. They couldn't save the 2jz to save there lives. Toyota themselves gave the 2jz the Axe. That's right there speaks volumes. It truly is thre most overrated engine ever.
