- Pastor Gabriel Swaggart reads 1 Samuel 30:6-8 discussing the life of David and one low point in his life, as Saul was on the throne. The weight of being pursued got the best of David, and he took a path of unbelief, and left the promise to go to war against his own people. All Christians, under attack, can break under the pressure, and turn to unbelief; David did for sixteen months. When we step outside of the will of God, God may lift His protective hand. We must know whom we associate with. David mistakenly pledges his loyalty to the king of the Philistines. The Holy Spirit has called us to be separated from the world, if we don’t, our light will dim. When we go outside of God’s will, He will allow a press to bring us back. Under the he press, David encouraged himself in the Lord and he turned back to God. We have a covenant with God that can make everything right. We can take back everything that the devil stole from us; we have God’s Word on that.
