Once again, that moment when a train simulator has a better paint booth than most racing games 😂 this is an awesome addition to the sim!

@@mother-of-all-things-esc Yes it does! Sadly I've never touched a Gran Turismo game cause I've had an Xbox, so Forza is the only thing close to that, but I've seen some awesome liveries from that game!
Imo, Midnight Club LA had the best vehicle customization in any racing came, and while TSW2's vehicle customization isn't bad, it could use some improvements.
I dont think tsw has that great of a customization

Too bad the preserved content can't be used in the livery editor. I'd make a F40PH and Gallery Cars in Amtrak livery to make a passenger scenario on Sand Patch Grade.
Same here... I recently had the idea to make a livery based on the 1986 XPT livery that the peeps over in NSW, Australia had... You can tell the era this livery was used, but MAN does it look cool! Anyways, I looked into the livery editor but couldn't find it and I even asked a different CZcamsr how to unlock it as I thought you needed to do something to unlock said locomotive... But I found out not long after that the "legacy" stuff is straightup not compatiable!
Now allegedly there ARE working on that according to a forum post, but since I have not found an official source citing this; take it with a pinch of salt... I hope they do though, even if they have to make special models for the HST in particular to work... It's really annoying as it stands! ^^"
EDIT: I found that Dovetail does roadmaps, and in a very recent one (26/01/21), they are infact working on the problem, and can be found under ""[Improvement] Livery Designer compatibility for Preserved Collection"! Only time will tell how complex this is but it is good news regardless! =)

I am hoping you can create similar custom liveries for ACS-64s (as AMTRAK is not alone in using them - MBTA and MARC, for example). And I am also looking at custom MARC liveries - such as a wrap-type ACS-64 livery - or liveries.
This has helped a lot thank you. I got the game today and I saw that I could do liverys. But I got a bit confused on how it worked so thank you. I'm also level 20 livery designer on forza so once I understand it more it should be a piece if cake.
I tell you what the livery designer reminds me of. You know the paint thing on the Forza Motorsport Series, that kind of thing.
I hope we can share liveries and decals like forza

Actually keep it all white or white with dark red doors, that will make your 72 Stock look the way it was originally 🙂

You should've tried the experimental 1972 tube stock livery - white with blue doors or blue upper half and red cab ends
It’s a shame you can’t do custom consists and the scenario planner doesn’t have the ability to couple trains etc
That's exactly what I think. Its more of a route planner than a scenario planner because you can't actually create a scenario lol
Yeah, the scenario planner compared to the one in TS2020 is pretty disappointing
@@isaacanderson5083 really it's more like quick drive. Its supposed to be simple so it works well with consoles.

I created a c2c Livery on the 377 (Originally a 387) But It won't let me add it onto the route in scenario editor - How Do I add it in?
Will we be able to modify the stock liveries? Like adding a few decals on the ICE livery?

I'm trying to make an L&N (Louisville and Nashville) livery for Sand Patch Grade, since they were bought out by Seaboard Coastline (another livery project), which was then bought out by C&O and B&O to become CSX sometime in the 80s. CSX is cool and all, but one can only take so much blue paint. lol
Is there a way to save logos to be used on other locomotives/rolling stock/passenger cars? Or would I have to make the same Livery over and over for each one?

I decided to do some custom freight cars for Sand Patch, just to make the trains look somewhat varied rather than just a ton of CSX and DTGX cars
But they released this without a whole bunch of stuff for TSW. Are they still going to be releasing for the previous versions?
From now on, TSW1 and TSW2020 will not be getting updates or DLC.

GWE 'preserved collection' version will be available on TSW2 eventually. On release the TSW2020 routes that can be used are Peninsula Corridor, East Coastway and Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr. There's only one route that isn't being 'ported' across.
Neat can wait to do Amtrak or long island Rail road livery and u can actually do this for the freight trains of the sand patch grade as well and the box cars
Yup, you can make liveries on each of the locos and freight cars in sand patch grade
Would it be possible to instead use a transparent image? Since some trains has some complex logos in them.
you need to do an authentic TFL paintjob circa 2002-2007 - That 72 stock needs to be sprayed with Tox 02 - Tox 07 all over the carraiges!
Also, anyone else has the issue where the NUDM (middle cab I guess) has problems on the body? Like, black squares appear and the decals are messed up

So in theory I could take an ICE and go full speed through a tube line?
In theory you could but the thing is your train has to be only the length or less of any station you're stopping at (ex: you can't use a 176m train formation even when only one of the stations you are stopping at is 175m) and all ICE formations are longer than any tube station in the game. And no, Off The Rails unfortunately does not solve this, which is stupid. I hope they change this.

I really want to do stripes on a livery, to make flags and stuff.
Put the ICE in the Tube livery cause that would be a rabbit hole
with them making the new island line with the class 484 we need a reskin for London underground on the class 484
I would like a pure 100% creator mode, sorta like train simulator but it would be way better in TSW2 because of the graphics. Like open world mode, sandbox mode, creator mode, design a route’ mode.

You should have done the Gatwick express livery on the 377
Preserved TSW content is not compatible with the livery designer, so making liveries on electrostars won't be possible until Southeastern Highspeed releases, as that'll come with a 375
Class 66 runs on the German railway as well
Yes, but with a German cab, German safety systems etc. still it's cool that the option is there to drive freight on the line

I spent 4 hours making a livery and I was just finishing it and then it came up saying “exit” and in small text it said “would you like to save progress?” And I thought it was asking me if i wanted to exit and I clicked no, just lost my livery 😖😭

I’m going to make a Yorkshire Flower White and Blue Livery. My company will be called Yorkshire Railway. TOPS Class 772.
tbh I think they should allow us to change the colour of the entire train .... it's really hard to match the exact colour for some colour.
They said on a livestream that an update is being worked on that includes showing hex colour values, so that will make it infinitely easier to colour match across a unit, and indeed across different trains entirely

That's what most people assumed would replace the 38 Stock trains before they announced it will be D Stock trains
Isle of Wight line is coming for TSW2, so would be interesting to see what rolling stock they'll include, and with the scenario designer, it means we can have the 72 stock running on it, and using the livery designer you can add the Isle of Wight livery to it
