  • In a world where people like to travel huge distances, aircraft are a vital part of our modern way of life. They allow us to cross continents in a matter of hours… but, as more people travel, the industry not only needs to look at ways of offering more capacity… but also doing so while significantly reducing the amount of pollution that’s released. The latest technologies have enabled aircraft designers to come up with ideas like never before, and by taking a completely different approach are beginning to shape what the industry will look like in the coming years. From fully electric power, to re-designed shapes, faster speeds, and entirely new fuels… it’s time to take to the skies, as we look through 15 plane concepts that will change travel forever.

Concorde is to small to be brought back
the USA did team with the Russian Tupolev which
was bigger but needed full AB Reheat to go super-sonic severely limiting it's range, however in this
US Russian project they gave the Tu-144 the
engines from the Tupolev Tu-160 Blackjack to give
      the Concordski super-cruise ability
      it was just research

It's always interesting to see how technology is evolving and to anticipate the impact of change.
One issue raised scares me--a potential trade war between Boeing, Airbus, and the new Chinese/Russian aircraft company. At present, industrial espionage is an ongoing problem. Throw in LawFare as global tech companies sue each other in order to gain total control over the market--monopoly power requires government force. It's not acknowledged, but direct action in the form of industrial sabotage, campaigns to slander corporate rivals, even extortion of executives takes place now. In the past piracy was used to drive off rival corporations. When anything goes because "it's just business," expect everything.

The one thing people who talk about electric or hydrogen powered vehicles never talk about is where do you get the electricity or hydrogen. If either were more efficient or less polluting, industry would have already adopted it. In most cases, we would burn the fuel on the ground to charge the batteries, then claim that the aircraft is zero emissions. This is just a shell game.
