Wood is forbidden where I come from. Just as steel nunchucks, also forbidden.

Which nunchakus are best foam or wood for beginner?
I'd buy both. They're pretty cheap. Foam to get the basic movements down, it will hurt a lot with wood. But you won't want to use them for long.
