    So thankful for this demonstration!! I was handed down both a haakaa and the curve and had no idea how the curve was used lol. Thank you!

    The curve was great for me initially with engorgement as my supply regulated. However now that my breasts are softer, it pulls my nipple all the way to the back against the silicone preventing any let down on that side. I have tried varying levels of suction and it no longer works for me. It is essentially an expensive milk catcher now. I did love it initially though

      Yes! Love the hakaa for relieving engorgement, and preventing overactive letdown for nursing. Excited to use the Elvie curve this time around, and hoping for less accidents (spilling, falling off) with it in my bra.

    I just received my Elvie Curve today and love it! Immediately collected 40oz during my first nursing session with it. I was previously struggling with the Haaka due to a wiggly baby knocking it off. Not a problem with the Elvie Curve! Highly recommended despite the cost. It is a little trickier to wash than the Haaka but was able to use a bottle brush.

    Hello!
    Just bought the curve a couple days ago :) should be getting it in soon.
    I love my hakaa. I’ve been able to start a stash from just using the hakaa while nursing. I’ve heard you mention “don’t over use it” in this video and another video (can’t remember which one)
    Can you explain a little more about why not to use the hakaa so much?

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  Před 2 lety +3

      Only in the beginning, after the first couple weeks when your milk supply is a bit more stable use it as much as you’d like! We just don’t want to cause any oversupply that’s difficult to deal with.

    I didn’t leak much at all with my first so it felt like the haaka was kind of pointless for me. I was however gifted a curve recently and am wondering if it might work better this time around or if different pregnancies lead to different amount of leaking/let downs?

  • @amandajonestheodorson3639

    Hi Allison,
    I have been using Haaka ladybugs basically round the clock just to catch any leaked milk and am debating either buying the Catch to replace them…but could the Curve be worn instead and used to pump when I’m due and press a few times before swapping to my electric imanis? I’m an undersupplier and so can use anything I can capture…but if it seems like I could use the Curve instead of buying both Catch and Curve I’d be interested. Thanks for your reviews!

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  Před 2 lety +1

      You could use the curve as simply a milk catcher with no Suction if you wanted. It’s bigger and bulkier if you’re wearing it a lot, you definitely don’t need to wear something with suction all the time, your breasts need rest time too. But if the size doesn’t matter to you, it could work!

    • @amandajonestheodorson3639
      @amandajonestheodorson3639 Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you!!! I may try that since I already have the ladybugs, which seam reasonably bulky already to me

  • @HannahRooks

    With my first, I loved using the haakaa in the shower!
    Does the Elvie have the same suction to where you can use it without a bra? Or does it have to kinda sit in the bra to hold that suction?
    Do you think it would be okay to use in the shower ?? (I hope that’s not a weird question, haha)

    • @NewLittleLife
      @NewLittleLife  Před 2 lety

      I think you could! I do think the haakaa is better without a bra and probably has a little stronger suction in that case.

    • @vergisses7535
      @vergisses7535 Před 2 lety +2

      I agree here. The elvie curve does usually stick to your breast and holds the suction, but not always. It may fall off if you touch it accidentally or push your breast a little at some point. It holds way better in a bra. Got it already kicked off by my little one two or three times when not wearing a bra.
      But inside a bra? Just great! Use it during every feed, even if a friend is visiting us!

    • @HannahRooks
      @HannahRooks Před 2 lety

      @@vergisses7535 hmm seems like I should also get a haakaa for shower use and possible clogged milk ducts. Thank you!!

    • @JustMe-fy7lq
      @JustMe-fy7lq Před rokem +1

      I thought I was the only one to use it in the shower 😅 Bought the Elvie curve for this time around, but still have the hakaas, so I appreciate you asking this question! At least no baby kicking it off in the shower, but it's definitely lost suction and fallen there. I comfort myself that if I hadn't been using the hakaa, the milk wouldn't have been collected anyway.

  • @naomihernandez3732

    I wonder how the Elvie works with large saggy breasts. The Haakaa has worked for me because it can just hang on and pull the milk out, like it doesnt matter i dont have 20 yr old perky breasts and gravity has kicked in lol. Anyway i was wondering how the Elvie would work in that aspect.

    • @autumn8317
      @autumn8317 Před 6 měsíci

      She said the nipple is nowhere near the silicone but for me it literally suctions my nipple to the back of the silicone and blocks the opening. If I reduce the suction so that doesn’t happen, nothing really comes out. Let me know if you got it and have had better luck?

      I don’t respond well to the curve either. I want to love it, but the haakaa works so much better! I easily can get .5-2 ounces from my regular side and .5-4 oz from my overachiever side with haakaa, but drops-.5 oz with curve and it’s uncomfortable!
