Wow! 😮 Thank You so much! 💜
I really felt the need to do a true Biography for Dawn. So glad that it turned out the way it did and that people like you found it and enjoyed it. Again, thank you for the kind and generous support! 😁
Cool.
@@CoolClassics I have seen beautiful Dawn Wells, In a western series.
Tells of Wells Fargo. 😊
Dawn Wells came to my sixth grade elementary class. I think it was the fall of 1971. She was in town. We were told to do some kind of show. So it was quite a surprise that we got to see her. Come talk to our class. This was Meadows Elementary school in Plano, Texas, I remember how pretty she was but everyone simply wanted to ask her questions about Gilligan. She was a lovely girl, and I was sitting right in the front row, and I couldn’t think of a good question to ask her.

I am drowning in tears. A star in her own right. This biography of Dawn Wells was a story of hard work, diligence to the utmost. Compassion unbound with no inflated ego. Rest with God, Dawn.
💜
Wow! Little did I know that Dawn Wells was a real life angel. Thanks for letting us all know. I am in awe of beauty inside and out.
To this day, Dawn Wells Has always been at the top of my list of very "REAL" people. RIP Dawn, I'll never forget you!
I always thought Dawn was beautiful in appearance, and to hear her story from this video, I now know she was a overall beautiful person. This world needs more like her, we were blessed with her kind soul. Rest in Peace Dawn Wells. ❤
The world needs alot more people like her that's for sure.Just goes to show no-matter how much of a star struck image one has, there are still nefarious parasitic low life Narcissistic entities that may extract ones light,& or exploit others resourceful energies. Her close friends & even family members, were not really there for Dawn in the last part of her Twilight years, not that she didn't share her success thru paying their bills spending money with them anyways.Especially when they needed money.Only instead of saving abit for herself as a retirement plan incase of emergency.Especially before the first Coronavirus wave hit by pushing alot elderly people into dense assistant living scenarious & thru more close assistent convelescent homes.

You know who Hollywood wanted instead of her you guessed it the late Raquel Welch
Really? I fell in love with Raquel as a child when I watched Kansas City Bombers. I was 8 and yes the attraction was painful...🤔🙃
She was a breath of fresh air with a heart bigger than the Universe. I'm glad she wasn't forgotten.
Yea she seemed to be a really sweet and beautiful lady
Loved her.
Her picture is posted under "Good Person" in the dictionary
She was like an 😇 angel. In a way. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😇😇😇😇😇😇
She will NEVER be forgotten
I met Dawn Wells back in the late 80’s. I was in a top 40 band in St. Petersburg Fl. and we were hired to play at a party where Dawn was the guest of honor. Unlike other celebrities who try to keep a low profile, Dawn was sitting with her people at the at the table at the very front of the stage. She was having a grand time.
When the band took a break I took the opportunity to introduce myself to her. She was extremely gracious and friendly. I was struck by the fact that the bubbly personality she showed on Gilligan’s Island was actually her real nature. It was such a pleasure to discover this. When I shared this observation with her she surprisingly became apologetic and said, “When you play a role for as long as I did it’s impossible not to let your personality come through.” She was so humble.
I was a fan of hers before this encounter. Having met her and experienced what a genuine and classy woman she was, I came away with a much greater depth of appreciation.
She will NEVER be forgotten! She was the perfect girl as Mary Ann. I have autograph photos of both Bob Denver and Alan Hale . I really wish I could have gotten the rest of the cast. They were all brilliant! I'm a real die hard fan to the point of purchasing an exact replica model of the SS Minnow. All of the cast of Gilligan's island will live in the heart's of fans worldwide!
Great post
Rob Reiner says, when casting, they try to cast a person who's natural personality/disposition is close to the character. Makes perfect sense.
I noticed you made no mention of the band you were in. God blesses humility. 🤗.
That sounds like her 1 in a million.
Lucky U!
I never thought there could be a girl as sweet as Mary Ann. This video showed me that Dawn Wells was even sweeter than the character she played. Rest in peace sweet lady.
Thank you for putting up this video.
She was a amazing person . She is missed . She is walking with the angels now .
i just came from her grave. I look after it. She is buried with her mother. I grew up watching her. Now I overlook her grave- life is strange. She brought me happiness in my life. She was so beautiful. I picked her when I was a boy as my favorite on Gillagans Island.
That is so nice of you! 👍💜
@@CoolClassicsThanks for the video. When the season warms up, I will bring her more flowers.
I can never get enough of Dawn Wells ❤
In the 1970’s, Dawn was in important part of my testosterone filled teenage years
She was totally gorgeous!
Any Episode of Dawn Wells/Mary-Ann coming out of the water. Yum
ME EITHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though Hollywood chewed her up and spit her out, Dawn clearly maintained her beautiful spirit and graciousness throughout her life. Bravo and Happy Valentine's Day Dawn!
There was talk that Raquel Welch auditioned for the part
What a remarkable woman! Gifted, compassionate, and generous with her time for her friends and family. I appreciate you sharing all you know about her and the other cast members.
My pleasure! Glad that you enjoyed it :)
Dawn is sadly missed by all us fans. Thanks for putting this one together. A cool classic!
My pleasure!
Hay.... What happened to her? Did she end up in the desert. With all of her father's friend's from the Casino industry?
😮oo😮o😮o
EXACTLY VERY COOL 😎
Dawn seemed like an angel on earth, how she cared for people and maintained that clean, wide-eyed innocence all her life. She always had the cutest figure too.
This past weekend there was a _Gilligan's Island_ marathon. I'm glad to hear that everyone on that show got along. *But truly I don't understand how Sherwood Schwartz could come away with $90 million dollars and not give a single damn about the cast members who were hurting financially. Do people like that even have a conscience?*
The whole Sherwood Schwartz thing does not settle right with me either.
At some point, you have to give back, especially to those that helped you make the money and are hurting.
@@CoolClassics --
It would have been nothing for Sherwood Schwartz to give them a gratuity of, say, *$200,000 each.* A drop in the bucket, and I doubt the $90K was Schwartz's entire net worth. He probably made a lot more in Hollywood on other things.
And though I always liked Natalie Schafer, she was another one. Did wanted Dawn to care for her and her dog. OK she left $50,000 for the care of her dog (which was good, and I hope the dog survived that flood), but Natalie, who appeared to have plenty of money, could have given Dawn $50,000 or more also, for caring for her. Especially as the childless Natalie considered Dawn as her daughter.
Yeah well, you know Scwartz was one of those chosen people. Not surprised.
hell no they don't
Apparently not. What a rat!
WOW! What a fantastic tribute to Dawn Wells! Like many other guys growing up, I had such a crutch on Mary Ann's Gilligan's Island. But had no idea about the love she poured as an actress and people in general. Continued rest in peace, Dawn you were perfectly named for the sunlight you brought to millions.
💜
❤️🤍💙🇺🇸🇱🇷💔!
I met her around 1971 when she visited Six Flags over Texas. I was working and saw her, went over and we talked for a while and she gave me her autograph for my girlfriend at the time. I got lucky and was able to see her again in Texas at the Country Reporter festival and we spent some time talking about the first time we met. She signed my Six Flags yearbook next to the picture of her on one of the rides. Then when it was time to get my picture with her, she grabbed my hair and pulled me to her cheek. She gave me some wonderful memories. 🥰
One of the true sweethearts of the Cinema. I sure do miss her.
💜💜
I think we all do.

How could someone leave such a wonderful woman. She was the complete package. Smart, funny and beautiful.
At that time too!
A real woman, kind, gentle, giving and loving. Most of all strong and always staying with her values, what made her, her.
I always connected with Dawn. I would run home from school to watch Gillian’s Island. It’s one of my favorite shows ever. She was such a good person, and I was so sad when she passed. RIP sweet Dawn!
💜
I find it amusing how the rest of them seemed to have endless changes of clothes they took along for a 3 hour cruise.
I contributed to Dawn's gofundme, and Nichelle Nichols when she needed a bit of help. Barbara Eden, Diana Riggs, Barbara Feldon all hold a place in my heart. This was very well done sir. I appreciate finding out the reason Ginger never rejoined the crew. That has been kept quiet for far too long. Swartz could have kicked a million or two to each castaway and still been well off
Thank You so much for the support! I agree, at some point Sherwood could have given them some sort of pension. Even a few thousand per month would have helped some of them greatly in their later years. 👍
@@CoolClassics dam sure would help me

Being a corn fed boy from a farming community, Dawns character on the island was more relatable than Tina's. That was the only reason Mary Ann was my favorite.
It's so sad that so many actors and actresses from the start of Hollywood ended up scraping by for most of their lives, when Hollywood decided they weren't relevant anymore.
How many lives has Hollywood sucked the joy from in their youthful years only to throw them away as they aged.
Dawn Wells , Was A Truly Beautiful LADY, both Inside and Out! Schwartz Should have given those Iconic Actresses,& Actors -Alot More than just a 'thanks' ( you jerks)!!! What a Truly SELFISH Rat- to have treated those wonderful People, like property, and to continue to make $$ from THEIR Work! His Family should be ashamed of the $$ THEY have NOW- because of what THOSE PEOPLE did then!!! I Still Love Gilligan's island! Just Shame on THAT Selfish Man & His Rat Family!!!!!
I had no idea about the integrity of this lady. Good to see integrity in Hollywood instead of faking it on screen. Great documentary.
The quickest 47 minutes I’ve experienced in a long time.

Thank You for the compliment! Some videos turn out better than others :)
I do wish that I could make them faster, but hearing from people like you, keeps me going! 👍👍
@@CoolClassics Yes, some are always better than others. But I’ve seen all of yours and every single one is, in my view, exceptional. You care a lot and it shows in every episode. I’m perfectly content to wait for the kind of superior quality you produce.
😁👍
I adored Dawn Wells, she was so wholesome, real and not stuck up. I fell in love with her when she was on Gilligan's Island and that never went away, of course I was only one of thousands who felt that way. Barbara Eden was also one of my favorites but Dawn will forever live in my heart.
This narration has done a great job of conveying the life of an icon of our generation. A truly good person, she was, who deserves to be fondly remembered. Thank you, sir.
💜💜
What a caring and loving person Dawn was! It warmed my heart that Dawn acknowledged God and was thankful for His care in her life.
Didn't know that. Most actresses & actors are smarter than that. Deities are gonna take a HUGE hit over the next 50 years amongst John Q with the advent of these instruments like JWST & ELT coming on line.
@@leecowell8165 She was smarter than most of the luciferian actresses & actors. It's pretty stupid to side with the enemy of your soul. After you die you'll find out.
@@leecowell8165 B.S., she wasn't stupid enough to worship the enemy of her soul. Astronomy won't give anyone eternal life.
Honeybees is my favorite episode... in part because of Mrs. Howell's dance moves. They are all classic!
Yes! 👍
If you notice, Dawn kept the beat the best. I was kinda shocked because I thought it would have been Tina. They were iconic.
She lip-synced to Jackie DeShannon because she couldn't sing, but she sure could shake that booty! Lol and RIP
God bless her! I can tell she had a good family upbringing, and she aged gracefully and stayed beautiful inside and out.

Gracefully isn’t the word; in my opinion, Dawn was just beautiful, inside and out, in her 80’s as she was in her 20’s, may she rest in peace 🙏🏾
I never got to meet her but she was a great actress. We need more people like her in the world. I loved Gilligan's Island and still watch it from time to time. She is not forgotten.
I had seen Dawn on one of the LA talk shows and she was so beautiful and down to earth. I really loved Gilligan's Island and especially Maryann. I never knew that she was in the movie, " The Town That Dreaded Sundown." That movie was terrifying because it was based on true events in Texarkana, Texas. Dawn Wells was a beautiful lady inside and out. Thanks for telling her life story and not just her Hollywood story.
She was awesome on shows and movies. She was an incredible spirit worthy of respect, and her memory will live on in other's hearts.

I want to thank you for this interesting insight into Dawn Wells' life. I had the pleasure of meeting her at her home in Toluca Lake, CA.. She was having a garage sale. Her longtime friend from college was there helping with the sale as well as the friend.s husband. Dawn was genuinely as warm as she appeared on Gilligan's Island. I bought her tee shirt and she included a personlly signed poster. The warm hug I got from her is something I shall always remember! She had so much character and grace as a human being!

To be THAT beautiful and THAT sweet is beyond words.

Even though I've never had the honor of meeting Miss Wells, please know that her character " Mary Ann" helped me get through puberty and after seeing this video, I truly believe that she was a genuine , 'Good Person' and decent human being, some one the world needs more of. My love goes with her eternally.
I always felt that she was beautiful and a really good person. I know she is missed . It’s a shame she is gone.💖
Dawn Wells will always be my favorite. My boyhood crush from watching the repeats as a kid in the late 70's.
70s has great reruns! So glad I got to experience that time myself :)
@@CoolClassics That is the time period I fell in love with alot of those shows. I Dream of Jennie, Bewitched, My Favorite Martian- I could go on and on.
I was born in 1971, so I feel we had the best of television. 50's and 60's reruns, current 70's shows, then all the 80s shows firsthand. by the 90's TV had such a large pool of old shows, that some started to disappear from reruns. in the 200s and now, just so many choices, these shows are hard to find. So glad I grew up on all of this :)
@@CoolClassics I was born in '72 and I had all those shows from the decades you had mentioned. Plus growing up in Miami FL she showed so many different shows from various decades. I love old TV shows. My most favorite if I had top pick, was always Sanford and Son.

Sometimes, someone is so beautiful in almost every way that no matter how you encounter them you know that they are the definition of gorgeous in the most universal definition of the term. Dawn Wells was one of those people.

Wow! She was even sweeter in real life than on the show she was famous for. Obviously she was quite an angel that should inspire us all. As for Sherwood Schwartz and his extreme greediness and being so uncaring for the cast (and I am sure many more) he was exceedingly comfortable for his stay here on earth but I sure would hate to be in his shoes for Judgement Day....
You did an absolutely incredible job of telling her story in a very flattering way! I thought she was a good person and here you tell her truth and I thank you.

So nice to hear she had such a fine upbringing. That explains a lot....why she was such a lovely and kind person her entire life....very talented and beautiful, but frankly, didn't really fit in with the cutthroat nature of "the bizness". I'm glad she found work and was successful in her life.

What an incredible person.
Covid really took (and continues to take) so many from this age group. It was a devastating thing. We will all have PTSB about it for a very long time.
Thank you for doing this. I had no idea this was happening at the time. Selfless humans exist right under our nose and we don't see it.
In a way, Dawn really was Maryanne. Sweet and empathetic. Till the end.
Not covid nearly as much as the mRNA experimental clot-shots

As bad as the virus was, the "vaccines" were as bad. Lost my 63 year old healthy sister to the shot, died of PE/DVT a couple days after her second shot. A story repeated thousands of times. 😢
I met Dawn on October 25, 2014. Like everyone posting here, I have to say she was so gracious, and kind. She verified the little known fact to me that Mrs. Howells given name was Eunice. She signed a photo of her, Alan and Russell with clocks, watches and other time pieces. When I asked why the theme of the photo was so time oriented, she revealed that it was a play on the fact that the network kept moving them all over the tv schedule. Thanks for a great video.
Very Cool! Thank you for sharing that! 💜👍

I have to ask, and only because your voice sounds familiar... did you used to have another channel ?
I'm a little confused it could be because I'm old but, I swear your very soothing voice is familiar to me. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that, I'm in the photo in front of the theater by the ticket booth. Where did you get the photo ? I was about 14 or 15 years old in that photo. Thank you so much for this great great video, and for not bursting my bubble. I almost didn't click on it, as most of the time with videos like this, you learn things you just wish you hadn't heard, but not this time. There are special people that you meet in this world and we are all the better for it. Dawn was one of those people I think although I never met her. They teach us to find the right mates, to love ourselves, to treat others better, and to not take life so seriously. My wife asked me one day if I love myself, & I told her not really, but she said you cannot really love others if you can't love yourself and looking back she was right. This is not being conceded or self involved it means loving who you are and that frees you from negative thoughts and emotions to love others more. Rest in peace Dawn you are perfection, what all women should stive to be.

Dawn Wells is an angelic and stellar soul and one can only imagine the divine work she is doing now. She defined love gracefully and is a incredible example of being an authentic human.
I shutter to imagine what Sherwood Schwartz's greed has him doing right now.
I grew up with Gillian's Island and Mary Ann was always my favorite. I had seen Dawn here and there over the years, but did not see her in many other TV shows after Gillian's Island ended. Now I know why. Thank you Cool Classics for this biography and showing everyone just how amazing Dawn Wells really was. She had a huge heart for family and her fans and I am sure she was/is loved by many.
Never watched much of the show but knew of her. I was more into I Dream of Jeanie & Get Smart type humor. Bob Denver made the show though how STUPID could somebody be but he really played the part. Yeah much like Don Adams. She passed from Covid? Didn't know that. Some people I guess weren't made quite right. Most of us it just another bug, me included. Felt like shit for about a week but it never really got into my lungs. May not have even been Covid for all I know I never bothered to get tested. Not really prone to virus & I'm 80yo.
One beautiful, classy woman. She will be missed. RIP Dawn.
Good and thorough documentary of Dawn Wells. I liked how you played long clips of her in other films. Also enjoyed seeing many pictures of her that I’ve never seen before. Thank you for this.
I appreciate that you noticed the extra digging for rare stuff that I try and do on this channel! 😁👍
Wow, a stellar woman. Certainly tough to be human, awesome example. Simply wow.
Absolutely
She was a remarkable woman. Thank you for telling her story.
This is just an amazing behind the seen of one of my favorite childhood shows. 💐
You made a terrific video about Dawn Wells. I didn't know about her parts in the TV westerns before Gilligan's Island. I couldn't get enough of her on Gilligan's Island. I never knew that she was in financial trouble. I would have contributed to GoFundMe if I did. Thanks for telling me about Tina Louise and her principles. All this time I thought she held a grudge against Dawn. I feel so bad about not liking her. RIP Dawn Wells.
She was a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul. RIP
Dawn Wells was an inspiration and a real contributer in all senses of the word.
Hello, I hope you're safe over there? I hope this year brings happiness, prosperity, and love all over the world, I would love 💚us to be good friends in honesty and in trust if you don't mind. I'm Doctor Christopher Johnson from San Francisco, California, where are you from if I may ask?❤
Its hard to believe she’s gone, She was my favorite
Never met Dawn Wells, but a long time fan, just like the rest of the world.
I loved all scenes of Mary Ann, including the ones on other shows she was in. I miss her too.
At 4:20 I went into tears, it hurt. Kindness is a valuable thing. Ask nothing for what is done for goodness..
