Get real, .25% decrease will not make a hill of beans difference to anyone, rates will have to come down a lot to get to affordable rates on mortgages, no one is going to be running to sign up even now.

Lets be serious, we are still seeing 2.7% inflation on top of the record 8% inflation we had a couple years ago. Things have to get a lot better before we can put the affordability crisis in the rearview mirror.

As soon as saw the rate cut i was like "and freeland will be claiming this is because of her and her government in 3, 2, 1...."
What hot garbage. If it werent for their policies we would have had rate cuts at least a year ago.

The reason Canada cut is because we have a shrinking per capita GDP. Not something for Freeland to celebrate.

There's nothing to celebrate because inflation still so high..products and services still continue rising I don't know where they get the 2.7% from Cherry pick data I guess plus when you lower the rate housing flippers are back to work than housing bubbles 2.0 will kick in..oh my gosh 😂

Wage gains today came in huge at 5.1 percent almost a full point higher than in America. The Bank of Canada rate needs to be hiked to at least 6 percent to quell any wage inflation leading to an endless wage price spiral and runaway inflation.

I think it’s been baked into new mortgage rates for the past 60-90 days. It does nothing to help supply. The defaults will continue to ramp over the next 24 months as those covid mortgages come for renewal. My 2 cents.
