My first love, the most crazy one (in every sense of the word), was a huge Placebo fan when I met him, and so was I. He sent me this video, it had just been uploaded on CZcams (it was in 2008). There was this huge mythology around Placebo songs, especially this one. He called me "my sweet prince" on one occasion, as a teasing subversion I guess. And then it ended very very soon before even starting properly and I was left with Placebo and their songs. God knows I tried so very hard to drink myself to an early grave listening to this particular song. But apparently not hard enough, since I'm very much alive writing this comment. It was half a life ago...
I am in pain, and Brain’s pain is the right comfort, so raw performance, so raw emotion, best artist yet so complex, it must be difficult for him fighting his demons, at least back in the day.
