      thanks brother, I would love it if they would option a selectable locker for these trucks, that would be the highest selling point with the Colorado if they were able to do this.

    How do you like Trail Boss with all the missing convenience package type frills? I'm wondering if this is a better buy then getting a used Taco. Having trouble convincing myself a new Taco or ZR2 are worth the money, or reliable enough for those over priced amounts. Trail Boss has me intrigued, i could swing one with out trading my car in, not sure about things like the G80 or heated seats...etc. Basically looking for a 4x4 truck to do trails like this video, not looking for rocking crawling extreme stuff.

    • @JT4X4OFFROADING
      @JT4X4OFFROADING  Před 2 měsíci

      I absolutely love the trail boss for its value, if you were looking to go up a step, you definitely should buy once, cry once with the ZR2. It needs nothing and is ready to go. Even with all my modifications, I’m still significantly less pricewise than the ZR2. So it’s really up to you, will you use the locker or more work and weekend trails ? Trail boss would be best if that’s the case

    Those geoege Washington forestry roads look like the ones i drive my 2023 colorado trail boss on in northeast Tennessee up ontop of holston mountain range located just east of bristol motor speedway nascar track. I drove up there on the rocky forestry/ logging roads and never had to put my truck into 4x4 mode.
    The g80 locker did its think snd tge truck slow crawled up top of holston mountain no problem to elevations a little avove 4,000 feet.

    • @JT4X4OFFROADING
      @JT4X4OFFROADING  Před rokem

      Yeah, most of the forestry road you don’t need 4 x 4, just when we were playing around. When we went down through Union Springs, though, it was easier to prevent the slippage of the rear end in the 500 foot drop to my left, right

    • @JT4X4OFFROADING
      @JT4X4OFFROADING  Před rokem +1

      Yes, it seems more peppy to me but it’s only 39 ft lbs more. Either way it’s the cheapest way to add true torque! It’s a breeze off-road and seems very able in 4 low, that’s where I really notice it.

    I know you covered it in a previous video but exactly what tires are you running? I’m wanting to get another set, larger but also maintain the AT capability. We get a good bit of snow here and I’ve heard MTs don’t do so well in it.

    • @JT4X4OFFROADING
      @JT4X4OFFROADING  Před rokem

      Running 275/70R/18 Nitto trail grappler which is a Mud tire, the ridge grappler is the A/T

    Are you still glad you did the HO tune? I see that they are not providing that option on 2024s so I want to get mine done on my 2023 trail boss. Is it worth it?

    • @JT4X4OFFROADING
      @JT4X4OFFROADING  Před rokem +1

      Is the easiest bang for your buck upgrade. It will take you down a mile per gallon or so but overall it is done nothing but perform outstanding everywhere I’ve been.

  • @RM-xl8ho
    @RM-xl8ho Před rokem

    why did you get 275 70 instead of 275 65 on the new tires ? the MT's from the factory are 275 65 I believe

    • @JT4X4OFFROADING
      @JT4X4OFFROADING  Před rokem +2

      I really enjoy the Chevy, I’ve ran full-size pick ups before such as the F150 and Silverado, I’ve also ran midsize. Specifically Tacoma Trd, pro. I have to say that the Chevy Colorado performs better than a Tacoma, in the aspects of pulling and power. Tacoma‘s are more pieced together like a jeep, so you’re gonna have to wait for the aftermarket to catch up for the Chevys.
      For the price point and capabilities, you can’t go wrong with a Chevy Trail Boss. If you have the extra money, seriously consider the ZR2
