의왕시 공업지역 내 건립된 제일모직 연구소는 공장 대지를 효율적 활용하면서, 향후 공장 이전에 따른 유보지의 추가 계획을 감안하여 건립된 최첨단 전자소재 연구소입니다. 건물은 기존 실험실 및 공장과의 상호 연계가 원활하도록 단지 중앙부에 위치합니다. 커튼월이 갖는 차가운 이미지를 보완하고 녹지 공원이 건물과 어우러질 수 있도록 사용한 자기질 타일은 건물에 자연친화적이고 따스한 이미지를 부여하고 있습니다. 이를 통해 두드러지는 외관은 협소한 진입구를 가진 단지에 랜드마크 역할을 하며 제일모직 본사의 위상을 구현합니다.
Cheil Industries Uiwang R&D Center is a high-tech research center located in Uiwang Industry Complex, which is considering renovation options based on the possible relocation of the plant in the near future. The building is situated in the center of the complex for a beneficial relationship between the existing laboratory and the plant. Therefore, magnetic tiles were used to relieve the cold image of the curtain wall and instill a nature-friendly image to the building.
