- Spectacularly situated in mountainous countryside, Mijas Pueblo is a traditional Andalucian "white village" whose main economic income comes from tourism.
The beautiful little village of Mijas, considered as one of the jewels of the Costa del Sol, nestles comfortably in the mountainside at 400 meters above sea level about 10km from the coast. Of the ten thousand population, there are so many foreign and English speaking residents in and around the village that the Town Hall has a very helpful Foreigner's Department.
When you wander through the narrow cobbled streets of this Andalucian village, you can understand what has attracted foreigners over the years. Many artists and writers have made it their home, enjoying the benefits of an excellent all year round climate, without being part of the busier, more commercial coastal towns just 7 kilometres down the mountain side. Despite its huge popularity with tourists, Mijas Pueblo has somehow managed to retain much of its traditional Andalucian way of life, the locals displaying their unabashed passion for all things festive and an unmistakable relaxed outlook.
Mijas Pueblo is located away from the coast and has a wide variety of restaurants and places to eat, including authentic, traditional Spanish restaurants as well as international ones. Fresh seafood is brought from the coast on a daily basis.

Hi! Mijas Pueblo is a great place to visit to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The views from above are absolutely spectacular. The town has a relaxing Andalusian atmosphere with its whitewashed houses, cobblestone streets, beautiful potted flowers everywhere and most especially, the friendliness of its people.

Mijas, en la serranía de Málaga, es un pueblo que pese a la masificación turística, conserva el encanto de los pueblos blancos de Andalucía. Bonito reportaje. Otros preciosos pueblos malagueños son Ronda y Antequera, llenos de museos, iglesias y conventos de monjas con una arquitectura única. Málaga tiene 100 pueblos. Saludos desde Málaga, España.

Gracias a Dios 🙏 de momento. Pero los políticos españoles que les gusta más un ladrillo que un tonto a un lápiz, como ya se han cargado el litoral han puesto sus ojos en este tipo de zonas, están hablando de hacer una ordenación urbana y que el suelo rural se minimice. En otras palabras, vía libre para cargarse y llenar de ladrillo la parte norte de la autopista donde está Mijas , de hecho ya se ven grandes proyectos de edificios en esa zona. Habrá un momento en el que haya que dejar de construir, o vamos a llenar de ladrillo todo el país y nuestros maravillosos parajes nos lo vamos a cargar? Habrá que apostar por otra industria digo yo. Benalmádena es algo demencial, yo no quiero eso para otras partes de Málaga y del país.
