- I recently spoke with an expat who was exhausted from her job. She gave it all, every day, and realised this wasn't sustainable & that something needed to change - but she also didn't have the energy to change it.
So how do you get out of this loop? I've been in it myself when I lived in London and worked at a company with a toxic culture. In this video I share my advice for the stuck, exhausted and / or overwhelmed expat.
And want to avoid ending up there in the future? My new course Touch Base can help you! Doors are open NOW till 3 July. Get grounding with me for just €97! www.amandamaximecoaching.com/...
My advice to your "burned friend" is to find a way out because "toxicity" is the norm in most companies and corporations, and it never heals.
I plan to resign very soon myself and I know her feeling but sometimes a reboot is a must as long as you can sustain yourself financially.
You are right, she needs people who understand her impasse so she can "vent" a bit but these people are very few and generally hard to find.
If she wants to reply here I would like to chat since we are both in the same state of mind.
Wish you and her the best.
Hi Nick, thank you for your thoughtful reply and I'm sorry to hear that you are in the same situation! Yes, I 100% agree with you that toxicity is often the norm and that a reboot is probably necessary. But I'm a coach, not a mentor, so I help my clients find their own answers and I don't do that by steering them into a certain direction :) The only thing I really thought was what needed right now, as a very first step, was to boost her energy. Once that is better, then there is more space to contemplate next moves.
To give you some hope: I was in the exact same situation and found my way out, and now after doing inner work I'll never end up there again.
If you want to chat in a free discovery call and hear how my coaching could help you, know that you are always very welcome. You can use the link in my profile. Good luck!
