The many streaming services made piracy viable again. Who would have thought.

more like they have become content provider themselves *exclusively* availing their content within their service.

I've been pirating video games illegally for years so Nintendo doesn't gives a shit so ya it feels good to pirate.

@@jodyjohnson265 you say Nintendo doesn't give a shit, but Nintendo is the absolute worst when it comes to punishments. Your luck is that you never got caught, because if you would get caught pirating Nintendo games, they will take your skin off. Just Google Nintendo piracy or Nintendo punishments and you'll see

Piracy was the reason blogbusters are released nowdays on the same day worldwide. back in the days it was US 1st, 4-6mo later EU. To this day i remember Matrix ... on my TV at home before it was released in cinemas here. Still i watched it twice @ cinemas... And even i have Netflix/Amazon&co ... i want my movies on my HDD.

True, but if you ask virtually anyone that is in their teens right now what a Torrent is they'll have no idea what you're talking about, it certainly slowed down but it seems to be coming back full force - Meanwhile everyone in their late 20s has been torrenting since the early 2000s.

I hear that empty platitude over and over and over again. It's a sham, of course. The pirate is digitally copying the service you create. The only way to "provide a better service" is to stop him from being able to do that. And that is, by definition, "getting anti-piracy technology working.

Yeah, but additionally we also need affordable streaming services with good libraries. One service might not be expensive, but when you have to subscribe to four, five, or six of them because content is spread out and sometimes divided, it gets pretty frustrating.

In the last years, most movies and tv shows are available on some platform, so downloading has become annoying; you can pay one month on Disney, next month move on Apple, next decide not to spend money, and so on. I have the last episode of Fear The Walking Dead, from June, I don't know if I ever will watch it; so I decided to stop with dowloading, because the few I downloaded are so woke or dumb to be irritating, and I have to look for subtitles, too, a job too hard for very little satisfaction
