Yep. This is sad that people don’t realize the importance of the Emancipation of Mimi. The album not only made us love her more but it became the most ICONIC comeback in music history ...period and that people thought she was done up to the point. This really made me respect her more. She solidified herself as a strong force of nature that would not be trifled with and it resonates with her genius lyricism as an artist. In my opinion, we are very lucky to have her now as she is a rarity💙

It's funny to listen to JLo's rambling about how she has no idea why there was a feud. Of course, she wouldn't know. She doesn't know anything about her music, where it comes from, or who the people writing and singing on her records are. All the songs she's ever released were just literally given to her by her record label. So, this drama surrounding the sample probably went completely over her head.
It's incredible to have this music career without any knowledge about music. She managed to become a 'singer' without even knowing how to sing.
In J'lo's defense, there are MANY singers that just take the songs that are given to them. Britney Spears, Rihanna, Jessica Simpson, Mary J. Blige, even the late, great Whitney Houston. It should not be held against J'lo that she isn't a songwriter because there are a lot that should be criticized.
Now, the issue comes in with the stealing. J'lo has been accused of stealing many times in her career. Not sure if this was all the label, but I do agree that J'lo should know SOMETHING about the songs that she is about to put her name on. I just feel that J'lo was a pawn of the record label... either that, or she really is one HELL of an actress, because she has me fool'ed lol

But a lot of the songs that they were giving her we’re out of her range which is technically their fault so they had to add other singers on who were being paid to do these records and then modulate them in with her vocals so example the song I’m really not the one with her in general just the one with her by herself I really love this song and I think it shows a perfect example of that she’s not singing the chorus part which is higher but she’s singing the verses which is a lower tone. Tommy Motola stole the "Firecracker" sample from Loverboy and used it for Jennifer's "I'm Real"
THEN copied the formula of her song with Ja Rule "If We" and made Jennifer's "I'm Real remix" out of it. That's twice in 1 year Jennifer was a tool for vengeance against Mariah.
Sad part is He won that battle. Mariah flopped with Glitter soundtrack and movie. Went "Crazy" and considered washed up. While Jennifer rose to prominence with the remix started getting number 1 hits that platform ed her career to where it is today. Though Mariah did get her comeback years later.
Why isn't mariah upset with Ja rule? She was so angry with Jlo. But this is about 99% Tommy's fault. Maybe Jennifer did not know what was going on.
Ann Cori it's definitely mostly Tommy thing. Maybe she was upset with Ja, who knows. Maybe should be more so at Irv Gotti than Ja though as he headed the Murder INC label and artistic direction. She never brings up Jen in conversations but if often asked about her back in the day when this was going down. I've never seen her been asked about her opinion on Ja or Irv. Who knows what get response would be, but she hasn't worked with them every since either so maybe that means something.
And maybe Jen truly didn't know at the time. But it's hard to ignore that this is a common thing with her music since her debut from Chante Moore "If I gave love". She may not maliciously seek to do this but is complicit and benefits from the shady business these labels do behind the scenes.

Mariah writes her own songs, arranges her music, plays piano and can actually sing. Shes one of the best singers of this generation. Jlo is a great dancer and entertainer, not a notable singer, does not play instruments. Loverboy is not one of my favorite songs (there are many) in mimi's catalogue what is saddening is people treat it as flop just because it was associated with glitter the movie but the song went to #2 in billboard. The only fact with loverboy is it didn't make it to number 1 like emotions, dreamlover, fantasy and heartbreaker, all of which are upbeat launching singles of mariah.
