Check out the new improved wrap, Digital Black Sparkle. I thinks it's a bit nicer than this limited edition...but only available on the more expensive lines. I have one of these kits....the only slight miss (to me) is that they failed to align the stripes at the seams. I wonder if that'll be fixed on the new wrap since it's on more expensive kits. I really like this design anyway and knew I'd buy one the moment I saw it previewed at NAMM.
The sparkle is very cool. I haven't seen one in person, but keen to see it in the flesh.
That finish is sick mate. Looks fantastic!
I've had this kit for a few years now and still are drawn back to this finish. It's also proven to be a bit of a go to kit - tuned in higher ranges for rock. So the neusonic is still sharing the love.
people say the shells are cheaply made with an obvious line where the shell finish is connected and that the floor tom did not resonate well at all to them,
they test a lot of kits as well and said that this kit is not worth the 2300 euro it is sold for as new... I do not know as I have not seen the kit...
I am considering this kit, but as it cost a lot while not being a high-end kit I am not sure when people say that Ludwig made these shells cheaper than their good ones...
I am looking for a kit I can play both acoustically and feel is great sound and fun rebound and feel as well as connect to the Evans Sensory Hybrid System and play electronic sounds on...
is this the kit to choose now in 2024?
I also looked into the New Yorker ll of Daru Jones got a mix of snare drums and toms and thought it could be interesting for the Evans system as well...

The shells aren’t cheaply made, I’m a cabinetmaker so would know more than most drum commentators, and the veneers, shell and construction are quality and I’m not a Ludwig guy. So you know, nearly all ply shell makers use butt jointed methods.
The floor Tom leg mounts aren’t that resonate, but I use Gibraltar floating feet on everything, they cost $10 and fix them

I had 2 of those kits didn’t like either, had to try twice to make sure.

Ha ha, there’s no snare there. But here is a link to the sound test if this kit, and the snare I use here is a Premier Modern Classic 14 x 5 birch mahogany.
