    Love the harbor freight freebie parts dish, and thanks for teaching me how to fix my heater fan

    This video was great! Glad I found it! I had opened the back of my fireplace and it didn't appear to be coming from the "Flame" motor - but after pushing on my rubber seal/gasket, which had a rubber/silicone bushing inside I noticed the squeaking/grinding noise stopped.
    Greased/lubed it up with rubber/friendly lube and noise is gone. :)

    Hey, this was a great video … So my heat surge unit is making that same noise right now, so off to CZcams land I go! First 7-8 videos I watch, they all say to change out the fan. Well I’m thinking there has got to be an easier way and I was about to give up for a bit cause I was a bit overwhelmed... Figured I watch one more video and BOOM! This is what I was looking for! You’re a frickin genius!!🤓🤓🤓🤯👍👍👍👍👍

      Awe thanks. And let me know how it works out for you. I wasn't about to change out the fan. They aren't exactly cheap. I haven't used it a whole lot after I fixed it. So I don't know exactly how long it will last. But never the less a cheap fix.

    We just acquired a free one, and even turning on the heating the noise is super loud. Going right now to check to see if this would be the same issue here for us

      Worked amazingly! The bearing on mine was slightly different than yours (black and plastic) but cleaning everything out and adding lubricant to it worked exactly the same as you have shown here.. thank you for the information you provided on this!

    I'm having the same issue, but mine is also giving off a STRONG electrical smell. What can I do to get everything back in safe, working order again?

    • @JGsgarage_unboxings
      @JGsgarage_unboxings  Před 2 lety +1

      I'm it sure about the electrical smell. It really could be anything. I took mine apart and there is alot of stuff going on inside there. I am by no means an electrician. So I would have no idea. I'm sorry

    Whenever you work on electrical motors 99% of the time you have to use oil called zoom oil made for electrical bushings and bearings for motors just thought I’d share that with you man for next time

      Thanks man. I never heard of it. But I'll look into it now. I don't do much work like this.

      Mine lasted for a few more months. But in my opinion the internal parts are cheap china stuff

      @@JGsgarage_unboxings - it was time consuming taking the electric mounted fireplace apart. I've never seen an object with so many screws. I didn't see a fuse and i was unable to identify where the kill switch would be if it overheated.

      @@janxxxzzz ok. And yes. They definitely went overboard with screws. Ok. I'll have to check mine out again. Could have sworn I seen a fuse. Sorry though
