Vw beetle off roading , rock climbing at power lines by smallwoods in Carrollton Georgia/Ga , just kicking it with my buddy , raised up with 7.0 mud tires , stock fenders not baja .
Like everyone else, this is cool and kills me at the same time. That's a 1963 beetle by the looks of things. I see an original type VW bug about once every 5 years on the road where I live, but probably been 15 years since I've seen one old enough to have handle-bar bumpers (besides at a car show). To not see one for 15 years, then to find someone using their antique in great shape for off roading... is cool because few others are doing it and lets face it so many of us used to off-road in stock VW bugs this is a blast from the past... and sad because when one of these comes along every 15 years it's hard to see one in such good shape be used for off roading. Thanks for posting, you have a treasure there.
For people that don't know you guys would hate the baja 500 or 1000 because the have a class with just stock bugs that complete the baja. Lol badass though
Whats up , basicly cut and turned up front end , then put heavy duty coil overs all the way around , then put some 7.0 mud tires on , there skinny but tall ...like my woman!
Jaredcs199 WHERE?? Roadworthy aircooled Beetles up here on the east coast of Canada are usually mid $4000's, $6000 if you want a nice one, $9000+ if you want a pristine one.
Infinitrium 800+€ for 1970 upwards here.Though getting one, not rotten would be near to impossible.I guess in our country people doesnt appreciate bugs at all :(.
Chris Winter Here in Latin America, at the seventees, we had the two options at the same time, standar and super beetles. Mine is a 79 standard beetle. In my country standard beetles were availavle until 1998 and even there is a «last edition» 2003 on the streets
It just kills me to see that done to a vintage RIGHTEOUS looking early '60's bug, especially one with the "deluxe" handlebar (two tiered) bumpers. I believe that you can't get those anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I believe the only replacement bumpers you can get for those now are those ugly looking "standard" (single tiered) bumpers. Those were common on German domestic models when sold new, but not permitted for American export versions, all of which were sold new with bumpers like the one in this video. At least that '62 or '63 cutie was not damaged in this video. But PULL-ease, if you MUST do this, save it for one that is all beat up and rusted out (or one that was chopped into a baja back in the day), not one that is original, complete, straight, and very restorable (even if it does need paint). This is coming from one who has owned or driven five early '60's bugs during the '70's and '80's (my dad's '60, a '61, two sunroof '62's, and a '63, plus a non-cutie '66). I decked out my second sunroof '62 like Herbie, before "Herbie Kits"(stripes and "53's") were available over the Internet. But I guess I should not wine and bitch too loudly, as I used my bugs to deliver papers. Paper delivery is notoriously rough on cars! Karma's a bitch!
I have a 1973 standard bug with ball joint front axle. I would also like to put 700-15 mud tires. Don't want to cut or eliminate fenders. How do I raise front to clear?
Get a 3" body kit from dansperformance www.dansperformanceparts.com/delux-3-lift-kit-to-suit-type-1-beetle-baja.html That's how they race the Class 11 Baja with almost a entirely classic bug.
Guilherme Siebel Hey , basically we cut and turned the front end up on the lower torsion, added coil overs on the front adjusted all the way up , put air shocks on the back , the tires are power king 7.0 , they are tall and not wide
its a swing axe , it has a new 1776 singleport engine ...very torqey! its got front and back skid plates now. we have been having alot of fun in it. Also has bilge pumps in it t keep any water out.
SORRY.... LOL... I'VE Been In THREE ROLE OVER's,,,, Stuck Only Twice And Towed It home Many Times...Prayed For it to Rain in the Summer, And Snow in The Winter There is nothing Like 60 MPH 3 inches Snow... Sideway's on the Freeway At 3 AM !!!!!!!!
Nice car. Or it could be. Shame you guys got it, could be worth a fortune! Oh, and stay off the drugs dude. Your hand was shaking so much I could hardly see.
I love the smell of burning clutches in the morning....

That poor thing...it's a classic, treat it with some respect!
Bro shut up it's not your car and cars don't got feelings. pussy
In other words, another air cooled Beetle that just won't quit.
For people that don't know you guys would hate the baja 500 or 1000 because the have a class with just stock bugs that complete the baja. Lol badass though
Lol looks just like the power line roads in Oregon Northwest....those you can still access that is,,
Whats up , basicly cut and turned up front end , then put heavy duty coil overs all the way around , then put some 7.0 mud tires on , there skinny but tall ...like my woman!
That poor beetle :(
It Was built for that
So you took a beautiful classic car worth a small fortune, and turned it into a baja? Nuts.
a small fortune? i can find one in that shape for like 800 bucks

Could you cite an example of a current ad listing? $800 is about what one in that shape would sell for 40 years ago.
Good thing those VW clutch parts are still real cheap!!
This car use in the brazilian jungles an the uruguayan pampas the best bro
Fusca não para , não para não. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
In Brasil his name is "Fusca".
I'll bet that he's gotta change the clutch once a week, slipping it like that.
old cars is the best cars
It sounds great!
Thats kinda what my bug is like, it has slightly raised suspension though
oh yeah ! I had a 1500 back in the day and i took it everywhere with me and more.
Almost looks like the ww2 type82e beetle
I want one so bad lol
I would never EVER do this in a bug this early, do that to a super beetle
Super beetles make terrible bajas because of the mcpherson strut
no... do it in a standard Beetle. Standard Beetle has a better suspension for off roading. I own a ´79 and its an amazing car.
a 79 is a superbeetle with mcphereson isn't it? I have a 74 and it's a superbeetle with mcphereson

You Have No Clue!!!!!
Beat up on a super beetle. Handle the OG type 1 with care ❤ please
If you can drive the best non 4 wheel drive off road ever!

Marshall Curtis In Brazil there are a lot of beetle that are still doing hard work on rural areas, and many of them are from the 60's.
Sweet man, how did you raise it? This is exactly what I wanna do when I'm gonna buy a beetle
What part of "stock" don't you understand?
Lol....asshole comment, but I laughed my ass off.
Other than the camera guy it was a good view.
Was Micheal J Fox filming ?

Worth a small fortune LOL, for people who believe that I have a nice bridge for sale.
what size tires did you run on this bug?
What are the tire sizes?
Herbie gone off-road
Power king tires 7.0
What are the modifications to the car suspension? What are the tire sizes? I'm riding a car in this style here in Brazil
Guilherme Siebel Hey , basically we cut and turned the front end up on the lower torsion, added coil overs on the front adjusted all the way up , put air shocks on the back , the tires are power king 7.0 , they are tall and not wide
Nice, too bad its earlier, but still pretty darn cool. Swing axle? Or swap to irs?
its a swing axe , it has a new 1776 singleport engine ...very torqey! its got front and back skid plates now. we have been having alot of fun in it. Also has bilge pumps in it t keep any water out.

Better order a clutch
do you have a spool in the diff
they are trans axle, so the axels go through the trans instead of behind it
So its one wheel peel then, open diff.
yup
Try holding the damn camera steady next time!
I bet he burnt up his clutch.
this racing class is call class 11
клиренс хороший ,но тачка еле передвигается
Can't even hold the camera with still hands! They're trembling. Sign of a bad cameraman.
Olha que legal os detalhes do fusca luxo e fusca ouro czcams.com/video/hF1RILXA8_s/video.html

your hand holding the camera sucks
That's what I'm talking about? You talk too much.
That's just not right....
Nice car. Or it could be. Shame you guys got it, could be worth a fortune!
Oh, and stay off the drugs dude. Your hand was shaking so much I could hardly see.
That shit ain't stock yo
