HI Tom and thank you so much for those really kind words. I try to be as humble as possible and certainly do not show anything off. Karma comes round and bites one is the butt if you do.
Also welcome to the channel, i really appreciate your support. Hopefully there is something in my videos or future videos that may find your interest.
I have recently partnered up with a couple of builders and they are keeping me very very busy. if its not driveways its footings for extensions and the rest that comes with a digger. So you will be forever busy when you do get one. where are you located ?

Hi Nick. Loving your videos. Especially the ones about your Chinese excavator. I’m glad you’ve gone into this with realistic expectations and obviously done your homework. They are cheap and cheap for a reason. Maybe the components used aren’t top quality? But they can probably be upgraded when they need to be replaced. Maybe the control systems aren’t as refined as “branded” machines? But you can generally work around that. You’ve already found that quality control might not be everything that the “branded” machines have. The loose locknut on the throttle cable springs to mind. But doing what you’re doing and giving your machine a good looking over is finding these little glitches. I personally think that these machines are more suited to folk like yourself: owner operators who will take into consideration the machines maintenance needs and use them with sympathy. That’s not to say you can’t use them to their maximum, but just not to abuse them. I suspect if a large utilities company bought these machines they would be on the back foot before they were even used just because of the fact they weren’t a Cat or Kubota or suchlike. Keep on keeping on mate. Loving the content

Hi buddy and welcome to the channel. Thank you for your appreciation with these machines. I know these machines aren't for everyone and that's fine, I'd love to be like the rest of the branded machine owners out there but I just didn't have the capital to put down into such machines. I'm honest about that. This machine of mine has had troubles and still continues to have troubles but look at the cost difference like you said, I stripped it down to show everyone on youtube just what lies beneath but also to see what may be needed in the future. That throttle cable lock nut, that now needs to be addressed again as it has come loose again. This time I will loctite it in place.
The controls on my machine are awful, I have to stoop to control it and would love arm chair servo controls but I haven't and I make that machine dance beautifully now 😄
I agree too, the machines for small scale able mechanic minded people can run these machines very profitable because they can even hire them out and not care too much about the abuse they will receive of customers because they are basic and basic to fix.
Large companies need reliability and that's why they go for branded machines and why wouldn't they.
Thank you for your open minded thinking, I appreciate your comment and watching my videos.

The Koop Chinese diesel engine is the best in the industry! Use Full Synthetic oil and they last for tens of thousands of hours. Usen a lot in agriculture industry running water pumps to electric generators, they are awesome! The oil industry hates them because they run forever on a tiny bit of fuel economy.

Hi Nick, thank you for this detailed view inside the machine, this is they type of content which is really useful for people. What strikes me is how strong and basic the machine really is. Seeing you break it down like this takes the mystery or fear out of buying an unbranded machine. It looks like the basic quality is sound and can be kept going by a normal handyman. I worry about the engine long term but I imagine if you keep on top of oil and keep the fuel clean it will do 3 to 500 hours and a new one is bolt on and only 600 quid anyway. Very cool video as usual many thanks

Hey buddy, not a problem at all. These vids are what I'd want to see so why not show them to you guys.
They really aren't to dissimilar to branded machines, just the branded machines tech and parts have had a lot more R&D and also money spent upgrading them. So when I see all these parts in this bay, it's only like something I have built in the past. Really easily replaced and cheap enough too. Regular servicing will be a saving grace of any engine, as long as they're kept on top of then all is well. Unless there is an internal problem which servicing will never solve.
Anything else I can show to you guys, let me know, I struggle to think of new ways to showcase this machine 😆
Thanks for your comment as always 👍

Hi again Nick, just coz you asked! I think a real basic introduction to digging techniques on a low power cheap digger like this would be fantastic. I know you´ve got plenty of videos showing you at work (usually at high speed and to music - don´t get me wrong they are great to see) but it is so obvious to you and your mates what you are doing that seeing you just getting on with it is not easy to replicate and learn from. I´d really appreciate learning from your experience. If you had the time it might be good to show from the start how you set out and tackle the job. What is your thought process and what do you and the order you do it in. Take footings for example, show us how you prepare the site, do the intial dig, keep the sides of the footings straight, manage the machine and dig corners. Real basic stuff to you but on your little machine you are very accessible to many of us and with your lovely matter of fact style you are a good teacher. Anyway I know it all takes huge time and thanks again for all that you show us. Hope you don´t mind me jus sayin

    Hi Nick,
just across your channel by accident if you will, was watching the people from France,
I am a director of a fairly large groundworks company we run in excess of thirty machines, we brought six Chinese machines this year as a trial. have to say they have been faultless so far, we also run the top brands as well.
the one thing I noticed with the machine you have purchased is the mounting points for the blade ram, in the video the metal where it is attached looks very weak, something that our larger Chinese are not.
the reason I am watching your channel is that I am looking to buy a couple of cheap machines for working in the rear gardens of housing sites where we have to finish off after the fencing contractors.

    • @everydaywithmenick
      @everydaywithmenick  Před 2 lety +4

Hi buddy and welcome to the channel, thank you also for watching and commenting too.
You've got some size fleet of machines with over 30 machines. I bet they take some upkeep.
You are very correct in your observations on the blade mount area. It is poor and the metal is paper thin and poor quality. It could have been avoided if that area had be beefed up in terms of steel plate and better mounting position.
I use mine in many back gardens, however some I have not been able to get in because some access is more than 920mm which my machine is.
If I was in the market again I'd get the extendable tracks to solve such problem. Maybe that is a bit of advice for you or if you always have good access then it doesn't matter so much.
Again I thank you for stumbling across my channel and hopefully I get some more content on the digger soon.

with going Chinese, one thing I have discovered is they do listen to your views and are quick to change things, they want to break into the European market that's why they are cheaper.

It runs well, motor is good, hydraulics good. I would like to slow the response a bit but not sure it can be done or how.
Grease nipples are crap, one fell out and the thread was damaged, but that is the only thing.

Like you said, they're a great tool and massively under rated. If mine was with me all the time or I could get it in, I'll be using it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds the grease nipples really poor quality. That's on my list to remove them all and fit better quality inserts into them.
Regarding track tension, just raise the track of the floor and measure the sag in the track. Online they have other brands track measurements to go by so maybe you could use theirs as reference. Myself, I'll be adjusting it until it looks and feels good and not too tight, I believe a tight track is worse than a loose track.

Having watched a number of your videos, especially the 2nd dozer repair it is well worth considering buying a lightweight or mini digger of Chinese origin from a dealer in the UK. I have the Everun Pro10, bought from a UK dealer and it arrived with a slightly pitted ram. It was replaced from a supply on their next shipment. The starter motor became hesitant to engage and was replaced almost immediately. Recently, the fuel pump began to leak and that again was replaced almost immediately. It is now out of warranty and it is left to me should anything go wrong, that said, you still have some rights in law if the item is unfit for purpose even when the warranty expires, especially if the agent wants to avoid a scar on their reputation.
Yes, you saved money, but for the dozer mount to split, you would have a legitimate claim against the seller, especially if you were advised on it’s purpose, i.e. not to use as a support mechanism when digging.
The Pro10 has functioned well in the 12 months we’ve had it, as with all these mini diggers, the controls are basic and must be treated with a degree of tlc as they are definitely not manufactured for serious commercial use.
Not at all surprised you were snubbed by the manufacturer when reporting the issues, once these companies have your money they rarely if ever provide a backup service. That I know from experience having bought small items via AliExpress. For that reason, when buying Chinese products I always purchase via eBay and pay a few % extra.
Your videos are informative no nonsense productions and you are to be congratulated.

Hi Gabriel and welcome to the channel. I agree with you, I've bought cylinders in the past and these don't look too bad at all. Not sure what parts are going to be like to repair them but they look fairly easy to get from a hydraulic repair shop.
Then the engine is the white elephant, just don't know how long it will last.
I can get a replacement engine for around £600 so not a bad price. Then again I would look at putting a petrol engine in also.

Hi Frank and welcome to the channel, thank you for commenting also 😊
So I have had a track that got thrown off yes. The tracks are still in great condition with plenty of life in them. However on the job I was on there was a rock and it just popped the track of with no issue. So it took me about 20mins to put the track back on, I undone the grease fill point and backed the tension wheel back and used a bar to jemmy the track on and the track the motor to pop it on. Should have recorded it but I was fuming with myself.
I hope this is what you were referring to.

Mine is an XN 08, doesn’t have grease tension, it is a nut and thread which doesn’t slacken off much, about 10mm. I struggled with it, then it rained today, so it is a job for another day, I am videoing it as I go. There is no advice online re this job for this digger. The machine has been trouble free til now, has 160 hours, does what I bought it for, be respectful of side slopes etc. they are not a toy as you understand.

      @everydaywithmenick  Před 2 lety

@@flmulcahy aah you've got the older proprietary design. They were a good design until mud got brought into the mix and clogs the threads up.
My advice is a long bar, 1 inch thick and just jemmy it in the idler end and have someone track the motor in little bursts so you can get it sat on the wheel and in between the tracks teeth. I spent about an hour one day then I come back to it the next day and 10mins later it popped on no trouble. Go figure eh 😄
Side slopes are dangerous and yes always be aware and make sure you have a quick exit strategy in place if needed.

It will be a matter of time when Chinese made machineries will beat alll their competitors and they are already doing that. Chines export more cars overseas than the Germans last year. Chines tunnel boring machines has a 2/3 share in the world, as so are the concrete pumps and mobile cranes. If people still have the perception Chinese marchineries are of less quality, just take a look of the quaity of their high speed trains.Gone are the days China made lesser quality products.

There are companies within China and Alibaba and other platforms who are selling premium machines for way less than competitors.
