Farrel has earned my respect, as a Kiwi he was one of the most hated since the ABs loss in the last World Cup, now that has softened..today his class as a leader shone through and I found myself supporting a team I once loathed...rugby is defiantly the winner here.
As a South African, wanted to say massive respect to England. You were the better team for most of the game today. Very unlucky not to come away with the win. That's rugby. Keep your chins up. You've made your country proud and you've shown that positive times are ahead for English rugby.

SA, were drained mentally and physically from the France match. England muddled through the lucky easy side of the draw, fresh as daisies with no expectations on them Good performance, but had England beaten SA it would have been a travesty. I have SA as favourites now, they were awful but still won. Great stubborn character about them.

England looked like they were going to win for 75 minutes of the match. Heartbreaking to lose in this way, but the Springboks somehow managed to clinch victory in that last few minutes. Both teams gave it their best shot, but in the end the Springboks managed to cross the finish line by a whisker.

It was heartwarming to see Farrell and Pollard showing respect to each other after the game (Saffa here).

Great performance by England am Irish was expecting a win but pollard is great . It was where Ireland suffered the lack of players like Farrell or polllard . Two greats of the sport
Scrolling through some of the comments above it seems that most have forgotten how Farrell’s backchat resulted in the ref marching England back an extra 10m from a halfway line penalty. Those 3 points given away at a moment when England were totally dominant may have been crucial to the outcome.
Whilst Farrell is undeniably a gifted player he should learn to STFU…One of the beautiful traits of rugby is that the Ref is God, you can politely ask him to explain some of his decisions but you can’t mouth off like a football player.
Some has told the Poms what a try is I assume. You can get 7 points you know. Should try it one day.

He definitely hasn't warranted or deserved all the personal attacks and vitriol foisted on him by so called English fans, during this competition.
He has risen above it all with dignity and his pride in playing for his country is marvellous.
People need to remember that the coaching team and players have only been together since July ... they have made great strides and, despite this defeat, have now a solid foundation of youngsters to build upon. 🏴🏴🏴

The captain of the squad has to set the standard for discipline on the field, especially when it comes to how you talk to the officials. He had to be pulled back by the very team mates he is meant to be leading because he couldn't keep his trap shut, and it cost them 10 meters - potentially a game changer.
Its very easy to appear humble and dignified after the fact; he couldn't control his mouth when it mattered most. This is absolutely not the role model I would want for my son.
He might be a great player, but he let his team down with his lack of self control; baffling from a man who has been playing as long as he has. England deserve better.

Never been so proud to be english.the group were written off and had to deal with the leadership and ownership of Eddie Jones, who left the rugby team in tatters. The boys stepped up and were the better side for 65 mins. In the end the interchange made the difference, and clutch game play. We come again. 🇬🇧

The professional game is often called a game of fine margins or marginal gains. With all due respect to his kicking ability he lost discipline a few times during game the game. This resulted in a penalty kick due to the 10m rule. Resulting in three points. Tough to say but marginal gains is what wins World cups. I am not saying this but the players who have won it before and walked the walk.
