This really puts into perspective of what the Player SHOULD be. They’re soul (pun intended) purpose was to bring happiness to the world with so much conflict, to bring a happy end to the people who were once sad. They have the power to manipulate time and space, and they must use it responsibly, never for their own agenda. The Player in this comic understood that responsibility, which is why they left the Undertale universe, so the characters in that world could live their happy lives forever. And now it’s duty is to give happiness to the world of Deltarune, in the game, that’s the kind of Player I represent. Kris may not understand that now, but the Player truly wants to make the world a better place. As for the Genocide and Snowgrave routes….that’s not the Player……..that’s a Demon…….right…..PARTNER?
Edit: You know, I was reading a few of the comments telling me to not blame Chara….but when did I ever? I called out the DEMON, I never called out Chara. She was under the DEMON’S influence because they grew hungry for power and death…it’s funny you’d assume I’d blame Chara for anything at all
cyber ghost agreed 100%, also imiiick this was very well down the voices drew me in and really I loved this
I'd love to think the soul is actually frisk that got accidentally trapped inside kris and is trying to help him find his happy ending, or bad ending judging by snowgrave

@@S8EdgyVA in deltarune, yeah thats pretty much what its going for. the voice that noelle hears in snowgrave? thats not kris's voice.. thats *OURS*
to the characters in deltarune they see their world as completely real, but to us on the outside, it is nothing but a game. kris has zero agency over our presence and control of them. they cant do anything to stop us from making them do things, we just showed up uninvited from their perspective.
This is exactly the way I feel about Undertale too, with that "i can't go back because the only way to do so would rip away their happy ending." Same goes for Oneshot, too, if anybody here knows that game.

@@skell6134 Yeah, I did. I got the Solstice ending. But to my knowledge, the same is true for Undertale; I'm pretty sure you have to get the Neutral Ending before you can go back and get the Pacifist (or True Pacifist) Ending.

Honestly I know it’s stupid because it’s just a game but after I beat Undertale I refused to play it again. I liked them too much and I didn’t want to ruin the happy ending

I like to think that at the end of the game Kris and the Player will finally fight, and if the player has only done good things then we will have the opportunity to reach an understanding with Kris and eventually become their friend. And kick titans butt together of course. I can even imagine than Kris can have his own K-action
Bro the best connections is not shadow and sonic not goku and vegtta not even Naruto and sauske it’s the player and kris this needs to happen many people including me get tired of vessel vs kris I get tired of the concept of us the player being evil when you do a flipping true pasfist route i hope toby does something like this
Here the player looks like a hero, or a very kind entity. Very different from what he really is, a person playing with an entire (Fake) world made from images, codes, and a fictional story.
Heughhhh this hurts but it’s true
There’s some things I wanna go back n do in the gamer that I haven’t done but aside from that I haven’t touched the game in a while.
The player isn’t wrong, they knew everyone and made everyone happy, they are also curious and will do everything to discover everything, just as they did in undertale, they will reach the end and leave. Maybe they weren’t the best and maybe they got too curious in what would happen if they were not nice, but at the end the hardest ending is one where you spare everyone, and it usually is the one you end on.
I relate to this so frekkin much. As much as I loved Undertale, I know going back would involve ripping away everyone's happy ending, including Frisk's. I know it's a cliche line but Great Power must be balanced with Great Responsibility. Sure, I can't be part of their world anymore past the ending, but I can take comfort in knowing that everyone's alive and living their best lives on the surface, and in a way, I can still keep an eye on them through outlets like fanworks and what not.
The Soul's last speech here basically summed up all my feelings. We want to go back. We miss them, but there's a price to be paid for allowing everyone to keep their happy ending, and that is cutting ourselves off from that world completely. Aside from a couple of folks like Flowey, Sans, Chara and Frisk, nobody will ever know of the sacrifice we made for them, but...we made a promise, and no matter how much it may pain us, we're too Determined to go back on our word.
And it'll likely be the same deal here with Kris and Deltarune. We'll do our part to bring this world to its best possible conclusion...and then to protect it, we'll have to move on. In that regard, our own story can be seen as a bit tragic.
Basically the soul has played Undertale and gotten pacifist and decided too listen too Flowey and not restart and now they gamin with deltarune

makes player mirally adequate we didnt wanted to leave put previous story so weve used someones body to continue living that story and though its kinda selfish kris too opened dark fountain to continue advenuring in dark worlds risking balance of light and dark sooooo i guess that makes us even
