    General characteristics of cardiac amyloidosis can include unexplained heart failure, unexplained atrial fibrillation, and physical exam findings such as jugular venous pressure elevation, lower extremity edema, abdominal distension and many more. Diagnosis and treatment of amyloidosis vary depending on the type. Patients with amyloidosis can deteriorate rapidly, so diagnosing quickly is very important.
