    This is great! When checking intonation, luthiers have consistently told me that you should capo the 1st fret and then check the intonation at the 13th fret. I don't really know why, but that seems to be universally advised. ;)

    Good advice!! I have a couple of guitars that are fine open and at the 12th fret but out of tune at the 1st 2nd and third frets. The guitar tech filed down the nut a bit and now we're lickin chicken. Looks easy but I would have probably messed it up. 😎

      I've been watching a few videos on how to fix things like that myself but I'm scared to try it and mess up any of my acoustics! 😂 Glad you got yours fixed though!

    An easy way I found if your capo is a little to tight or something just like put it on the upper fret of the fret your on

    yeah just need to buy a regulated capo if the regular one is too tight and fucks up your tuning

    My capo works perfectly with my old Spanish guitar, but on my western it dulls the lowest string. I´m assuming that it's just loose, cuz when I press down on the capo it sounds like it should. Which is super annoying since I only have the one capo.

    Hi Ellen, the pick-up on the acoustic guitar to connect to the amp is there a screw in pick up instead of destroying the guitar.

    • @for3v3rfaithful
      @for3v3rfaithful  Před rokem

      There are definitely ways to add a pickup into an acoustic guitar so you can amplify the sound without destroying the guitar. 👍 The easiest would probably be the kind that fit under your strings in your sound hole. 🤗

    How do I know what to play in a band and when playing with multiple guitarists
    Because sometimes, with the songs I know how to play, when in a band, it sometimes sounds like the same chords don't fit on the songs as I play with another guitarists or organists

    • @for3v3rfaithful
      @for3v3rfaithful  Před rokem

      A lot of this comes with experience playing with others. You have to make sure you're all in the same key, have the same tempo, agree on the same chord progressions, change together on the right counts... My best advice would be to ask the other players questions when you guys are rehearsing and clear up anything that's confusing you. If you have something wrong, write it down so you don't forget, or if you think the song should be played a certain/different way, speak up so all of you can work it out together. 👍

    I need help. When I put my capo on 1st fret and it buzzes when I play an Em chord or a d chord or an a. But when I put it everywhere else it plays just fine. How do I fix this?

    • @for3v3rfaithful
      @for3v3rfaithful  Před 4 měsíci

      It sounds like one of your fret wires might be the culprit. 🤔 Sometimes if one is taller than the others, it can cause buzzing like that. It could also be the bow of your neck. I would try plucking each string with the capo on fret 1 and try to see if any strings are buzzing against a fret wire. 👍

    hey Ellen, if my guitar body is chipped does it cause buzzing?

    • @for3v3rfaithful
      @for3v3rfaithful  Před rokem +1

      Hmm I don't think a chipped guitar body would normally cause buzzing, but I suppose it depends where the chipping is... 🤔 In my experience, the buzzing sounds come from your strings/frets so the body shouldn't affect it much. 🤷🏻‍♀️
