    Which do you find more comfortable? English method or the Continental method. I learned how to knit in the continental method because I learned how to crochet before I learned how to knit so I got used to holding my yarn in my left hand more than my right. The only time that I do the English method is if I'm stranding colors because I find that my tension is a bit looser.

    • @iKNITS
      @iKNITS  Před 4 lety

      I just learned continental last year but I’ve definitely gotten used to it and it is my preferred method. I just need practice starting a row in continental. I also prefer English style for purl. Still haven’t got the hang of it in continental. But it’s faster and a lot easier on my hands which is why I’ll keep trying.

      Hi! I don't have an alternative. This yarn is so good, it's worth it to make your blanket out of nice quality yarn. But there's a way to get the skeins cheaper. What I suggest is going to Michael's or Jo Ann with a 50 or 60% off coupon and buying them that way. I've done this lots of times..you just have to take multiple trips. If you don't want to do that, you could search on google for size 6 yarn and see if there's any good deals. Just watch for the yardage. You could find good prices but they don't have as much yarn in them

      No I didn't. Have you finished yours?

    • @SL-mz2zv
      @SL-mz2zv Před 3 lety

      No, I’m still working on it. It is taking much more yarn than the pattern said it needed. When it’s finished just wondering if I need to block it.

      @@SL-mz2zv Did you get the Bonus Bundle? They are more than double the size than the regular skeins of the thick & quick yarn. You do not need to block this blanket.

      @SL-mz2zv Před 3 lety

      Oh man, no I did not! That explains it. It’s going to take me about 11 regular skeins I think. Thanks.

      @@iKNITS I'm restarting this blanket - Long story but I decided to make it as a gift and want it to be a little different. Question - I am going to slip the first stitch in order to make a pretty edge. Should I count the slipped stitch as part of the border so in other words, slip the first, then knit 5, then purl? (I'm going to slip first stitch knitwise, then purl last stitch) so how will this affect the count of stitches at the border?

    If using these colours, do you need 2 balls of the seaglass and 1 each of the others?

      Yes that’s correct

    Why did you change needles from wood/bamboo to metal?

    • @claraleigh1271
      @claraleigh1271 Před 3 lety

      Because metal needles are way better than bamboo!

    Why do you leave such a long tail at the beginning?

    • @iKNITS
      @iKNITS  Před 3 lety

      It's no more than 6 inches and I wanted to make sure it was long enough to weave it in properly.

    So... The width depends on the length of your knitting needle? 😂

    • @iKNITS
      @iKNITS  Před 3 lety +2

      Haha well let’s just say that it’s super annoying if you’re having to scrunch all your sts together to fit on one side. I’ve done this before and it was not fun. So get those circular needles! ☺️
