We're Eric & Allison and we're on a journey to find the most interesting places and unique foods this planet has to offer! We've traded in our steady paychecks and permanent home for a life of travel and adventure. Come along and see the world with us!
Guys I'm 60 years old... When I was 5 years old my father worked for the government the state of Michigan you saved up his vacation time for 5 years and we got 3 months off so in 1968.. he bought a we called it a Jeep you guys said wagoneer but we had one just like it but it was green with the wooden sides and it was when people didn't put the kids in seat belts my brother and I had two big bean bag chairs in the very back my sister sat in the next ones and my parents got a Shasta camper and took us for 3 months to see to see the presidents at Mount Rushmore and I remember my dad sharing that a 6 ft tall man could stand up in the nostril of George Washington I never forgot that I was only five and then we went to the Grand canyon and then to Disney in California on the way back we stopped at the Grand Ole Opry we didn't have tickets but some really cool guard person let us in and gave my sister and I grabbed a lot for bracelets that I still have to this day....which are now collectors items... That was the old Grand... Not the new one... I love how you guys got excited about that jeep because it made me super excited... What are some parents I had that gave me great memories they're both passed on now but gave me the fever to want to travel... Hence why I came to your channel to be an adventurer!!! Love you two .love your channel...been watching it for years..I rarely comment
Sounds like an amazing trip!
It was....thank you... growing up thought all kids had that kind of life...thankful they made mine filled with great memories ❤️
You know you've made a successful vlog when you get someone who had no intention nor reason to go to a destination to start thinking about it. Their tourism board should be rewarding you for this! 😊
Come to Boise! It is great!!
Because of this, I just booked a trip to Basque district, San Sebastian and Bilbao.
Love y'all videos.❤ I'm hooked. Big fan in South Carolina.
I think that Sardine was an anchovy. Very common in Spain in tapas and pintxos. Yum!
Yep😂 that would be stout for sure!
You guys have to go back to Boise during the summer, there's so much to do and the farmer's markets are great.
Too bad about those pesky winter months, huh
Thanks for doing such a good job with my hometown. It’s always a bit hard telling people I am from Boise (Boy-see it was also driving me nuts but don’t worry everyone does it) but when people actually know what Boise is like they usually love it. Looking forward to your next adventure in Idaho. Hoping it’s somewhere like McCall, or Loman. Even Idaho city would be a fun pass through. P.s. agree to come in summer. Big thing is float down the river end at the park and have a BBQ, table rock, and Merritts. The hidden gem and best scones you will ever eat.
When I posted on my Facebook that it’s Boy-see not Boy-zee some guy actually argued with me about it saying that’s how everyone pronounces it. So I told him they’re pronouncing it wrong! Born and raised here so I think I know how it’s pronounced. 😂🤷🏼♀️
Entertaining video. Wouldn't that ice cream potato be the best April Fools Day dinner trick ever? It still looked like a potato even after you took a spoonful. Such a fun city
I rarely comment but I watch as many of your videos as I can. I just wanted to share with you how much I enjoy your videos. I think your videos are such top shelf content. From the television quality b-roll to the great storytelling you guys do so well on all of it!! Appreciate ya!
Holy moly, thank you so much! We appreciate you! 🙌
So fun to see your impressions of some of the wonderful places in Boise! I live about two hours away in Twin Falls and we travel to Boise all the time! I wish you could see it in summer- I think you’d love it that much more! You can float the river, the downtown has so many things happening, the city is beautiful with all of the trees- you barely scratched the surface of a wonderful city!
Surprised you hadn't seen it tasted Eiswein in Germany especially around Christmas time. Very sweet but delicious. Great video.
My hometown!!! ❤❤❤ You barely scratched the surface but you hit some great spots. For a short trip I think you got a great taste of the place. One other spot I think you would have loved is a cocktail bar downtown called Press & Pony. You’ll have to check it out next time.
Also you may not think of great wine when you think of Idaho but they have a very impressive wine region. Koenig Vineyards is one of the best. Cinder too!
Also also it’s Boy-see not Boy-zee. Y’all were driving me up the wall! If you do move there you’ll have to work on your pronunciation 😂.
Great video! Great job showcasing one of the best places on earth!
I actually heard that we should pronounce Boy-zee as a correct way!! 😅
Yup drove me nuts too, I'm from OreGUN. Boy SEE
@@jackblah5842 🤣 Moved here in '21 from NeVahDa and I ust spent way too long saying Boysee boyzee boysee boyzee. I hear zero difference but I also grew up near Worchester (WisTah) & Leominster, Ma (LemonStah) so I will keep working on this!
@@GenXHeart Yaw just nawth of Milfid... Pissah!
Ice wine is common over here near Detroit in Ontario Canada and a few places make it in Traverse City. Glad you had a chance to try it. Very sweet indeed!
How awesome you are from STL (where I was born, lived 28 years) and now you are passing through where I live now, would have been ideal for you to visit late spring, the weather is amazing and we have the perfectly low humidity level. Its such a fun and great place to live! Thanks for coming and you did a fantastic job presenting Boise.
Idaho looks amazing! Great video guys.
It’s been warming up here in Boise and my spring flowers are starting to bloom, but today is a rainy day. Back in the 90s we had a 4 day long river festival in the summers. Think rose parade, but on a river. 50 foot-long floats that would float down the river. It was a big deal with music, entertainment, fireworks. Then they realized it was not so good for the river, so they changed it to floats on Capital Boulevard. Enjoying your adventures. Glad you could visit us.
That would have been amazing to see and attend! Definitely makes sense that they moved it to land, but glad you got to experience the river version - very cool!
My heart is overjoyed that y'all made it to the Basque block!!!
Just ❤any videos featuring long running diners that are not part of a chain! Thanks for sharing.
More endless adventures!!! I love you two!!!
That bottle is called a split, which is half the usual size. Icewine is made from the blood of the grape (the water stays frozen and just the sugars are extracted). Probably yours is made from the Vidal grape, but try some from Germany (Riesling grape) and you will be amazed and delighted. Cheers😊
Made my week! 😊 returning home to Rivers Edge UT after my work day, and to find Clementine and Ruby, parked as my neighbor. Was thrilled, having followed you folks all this winter. Keep on rolling, and keep ‘em running! Hope to cross trails again up the road as “full timers”. All the best! Lou & Fluffy
The mural with the goat is the GOAT of the murals in the area!! 😉
That is a pretty interesting city 😊❤. See you next time ⏲️ adventurers 😊.
Surfing 🏄♂️ Ice Wine... Chorizo... and a Baked Potato in Ice Cream form... What a diverse city tour
Right? So many eclectic, fun things in one city!
That restaurant should give you candy accessories that you can use to make a Mr. or Mrs. Ice Cream Potato Head! 🙂
Welcome to my hometown. Wish you come back in summer when is warmer. So much to do here. Chef Lou's Ice Cream Potato is a Boise Favorite for sure. Glad you saw the Old Pen and Basque Block area. Come back soon. Ray in Boise
We'll for sure have to visit again in the summer! We'd love to float the river and take advantage of the surrounding nature 😍
Oh man...my family had a Wagoneer like that when I was a kid (probably mid-70's), ,but it was bright red. We loved that car! I can remember driving around sitting in the way back, looking out the back window with our giant Saint Bernard. Funnily enough, we later had a van similar to that (not giant tires/wheels like that) that we used for road trips (captains chairs in the front and middle, a sink and mini fridge + a wrap around bench with a table that turned into a bed. Rolling in our baby blue van with the 8 track tapes.
Those are all amazing memories! We definitely remember the days of riding backwards in our grandparents' cars. Road trips were so different back in the day 😂
Thanks you two for another fine adventure .Stay cool
Way to go Idaho! Eat a potato! 🤣.
You guys are the best!
I just rediscovered your channel after a long, long break and happy to see you made it to my hometown and where I live now.
Really glad the sun was out for your time here.
Keep having fun and looking forward to further adventures.
For nearly a decade, I lived just a few blocks from the Old Pen. Used to walk by it every morning on my loop. My location was also only about 8 blocks away from all of the downtown locations you were hitting. So, I had a fairly decent spot! I sent the artist who painted the pirate goat a link to your video. I bet they get a kick out of it. Oh, and hitting the wine country (what I like to call "Nampa Valley") is a solid move. Just...have a designated driver. Glad you had a nice time in Boise. It is a pretty nice place (with some large caveats).
Always make sure to have a designated driver. Our State Motto for WEED AND ALCOHOL IS ,,,,,,, COME TO IDAHO ON VACATION, LEAVE IDAHO ON PROBATION " Very strick on ALCOHOL and EXTREMELY STRICK ON WEED IN ANY AMOUNT OR TYPE.
You make every place look so fun and the food!! Fantastic vid!❤
this is so refreshing to see what other american cities and towns are like. Really love watching you both
Our daughter lives in Boise after being born and raised in Texas. She loves Boise! Great video of a beautiful city!
Awesome! Glad she's enjoying it as much as we did!
Loved your adventure. Looks like a great city! ❤
Love your video. You two are awesome.
Boise is so cute! I love all the murals and the steak fries looked friggin awesome. The sound on the ice! It's really thin, recently frozen black ice and it makes crazy sounds (look up skating on thin ice from National Geographic). It's so cool. We love that old Wagoneer! I'm sort of offended by the way the new ones look.
Idaho guy here. They're called "Finger steaks" not Steak fingers, glad you liked them and thanks for showing Boise off!
What a great place so much to see and do thank you again for an amazing adventure 😀😀
You made my entire day when you poured that ice wine like you were going to enjoy it with dinner. I had to pause the video and your face said it all.
Canada pumps that stuff out like crazy I’ve never had one that I enjoyed.
Niagara ice wine is delicious. Sweet but not cloyingly sweet.
Thank you both for the video 👍🏻
You just keep producing more and more great videos to watch. Ice cream potatoes though ummm.no thanks lol. I did see that there was a crazy brief time that everybody wanted mac and cheese ice cream
Awe. I love it! Koenig wine is yummy. And the old state pen. The drop room. Creepy. Welcome to my state!
That ice-cream potatoe was really cool.
Thanks for sharing the video
Great video. Boise is my 2nd favorite Place i'm moving back in June. Looking forward to more video
I Enjoy Your travels,
Greetings from Brisbane, Australia
Looks wonderful in a really good time. The food looks great❤
Never thought I'd want to want to go to Idaho of all places, but here we are...hahaha. It looks super nice!
Same! 🤣 But we promise Boise (and the surrounding area) is totally worth it!
Oh my you guys always have the best food no matter where you travel to, I'm so jealous, lol. Enjoy your trip to Idaho.
Watched your video and saw those candies and, with the help of Amazon, got some, very yummy. Thank you.
NICE VIDEO !!
Nice! I loved the look of those steak fries and that ice cream potato dish. The state capital building was cool as well regarding the architecture.
Rock on!
I live right here, and haven’t tried or visited many places as you shared!! I should check out!! 😂😅🤗 Thanks for sharing!
Just unbelievable yous guys just keep them video coming 👍
Again well 👍 done. Very enjoyable. 😊. Thanks.
Looks like a great time
fab vid as always. as soon as you said ice wine i thought i bet thats a dessert wine, hilarious but i bet it was lovely, i love me a dessert wine, especially a french muscat.
As someone from michigan ice wine is big in traverse city. We love it and even went to an ice wine dinner this year for ice wine weekend.
Enjoyed your video, will be waiting for the next episode!
Fun vlog guys.
Shocked that you guys didn't have ice wine or hear about it while you were in the finger lakes! Boise seems awesome, love your adventures.
That transition from the old prison to the new Albertsons- weird.
You could call your channel travel & eats! I thought that was a real potatoe. Thank goodness it was ice cream! How delicious! And I thought you were going to say it was "potato wine". I enjoy your smattering of history. I've driven though Idaho often going back to
Portland, Or. This was eons ago. Who knew Idaho is so interesting. Thanks for showing us around.
I love street art!! That’s pretty cool to have a system of ally ways full of art. Turning ugly dirty places into some place you want to see.
It's so cool! When we were there last summer, there was a group of people painting one of the murals as we walked through. Very fun to see the process!
Oh cool! We were really hoping we'd see someone painting while we were there. Glad you got to!
I read a blog about the origin of the Idaho ice cream potato and the author interviewed Chef Lou at Westside Diner! He said it was invented in the 1940s for a governor's banquet. The original had maple nut ice cream and fudge sauce, whipped cream and almonds. I love this "dessert imposter" and what a fun video 🥔🤗
Maple nut ice cream?? That sounds so delicious! Thanks for sharing and glad you enjoyed our little Boise adventure :)
Thanks for finding the fun stuff at a place I’d like to visit!
If you get back to Germany, look for Eiswein from Bingen am Rhein which is close to Wiesbaden. I believe it is made all over Germany now. It was first made in Bingen area. It is a dessert wine.
Will do! Thanks for the tip!
Video editing is art!
Cute vid guys, makes us want to visit these smaller US cities next time we come!
Love you and Frightened Irish vids ❤😊
I couldn't help it but remember that B-52s song
"You're living in your own private Idaho
Living in your own private Idaho (oh)
Underground like a wild potato"
I thought I spotted clementine driving down a street in Boise...but I decided it couldn't be you guys! Now I'm sad I didnt say hi!! ❤️ Glad you loved the town we call home. 😊 You were right by our house!!
Thanks for sharing
greetings from boise! just came across ur channel, and u inspired me to visit alaska. great stuff!
Awesome! Alaska is a pretty dang magical state - we promise you'll have a blast!
Oh Boise! More of The Endless Adventure! The best part of Monday! May the adventures never end!
🤣🙌
Loved the Freak Alley artwork, reminded me so much of Hosier Lane in Melbourne, AU. Hope you make a trip down under sometime.
Great video 👍🙂
Loved this! That potato ice cream totally got me😅
I am now working on my bus and just having a short break, you are so inspiring me to finish my bus ❤ there are so many places I realize I need to see. BTW sorry for my english I am filipino living in Arkansas.
Best of luck with your bus! We took many breaks while working on Clementine, so we definitely understand 😅
loved Boise very interesting place lots of history and some take places to eat & drink
Man, yall sold me on Boise!🎉
Glad you made it out of the potato alive! I'm sure you'll never forget that stay. The food all looks delicious. That was a sweet Wagoneer, about a 1980?
PO-TA-TOES! Boil 'em, Mash 'em, have 'em as dessert 😜🧙♂
I like seeing the very cool cars with you two!
Goat the gold - are you kid-ding. I like the way you ram-med that joke in. Great video thanks guys.
You can also find ice apple wine that uses apples that were frozen while still on the tree, then harvested and made into wine.
The food looks yummy I love colourful top.
You missed out on Eis Wine in Germany?? It’s big over there. We have some in the Finger Lakes area, too. For our wedding, we shipped MANY cases of Eis Wine from Germany (I was stationed there). It is NOT an Idaho thing. :-)
You can get ice wine in the Niagara valley next to the falls. Also in Germany.
Great video of my hometown! I no longer live there but have a lot of family still in the area. When I ate meat, Basque chorizo was one of my favorites!! So glad you all got to try it. Only one note from a former Boisean - Boise is pronounced with an "s" sound, not a "z" sound. Jewel even wrote a song about it! 😅 Thanks for all the great content! I always enjoy your videos! ❤
I like them old wagoners too.
Hello Allison and Eric. I have actually been there at this time of year. I only saw it in passing on the Greyhound. In some states we got time to look at the Capitol buildings. They tended to be like that.
I envy you going at your own pace, but as a foreigner I had to get round US in the time on my visa. That looks like a great place that I enjoyed seeing more of, so thank you.
WOW guys, the freak gallery really reminds me of the Wynnwood Walls outdoor gallery in Miami!
We visited there from Scotland back in 2019 and was bowled over by the place! GO USA! Love visiting your side of the pond!
Love your channel guys, keep doing what you do!👍👏👏👏❤️😊
As a foodie I absolutely approve of your wonderful food finds. Ice cream that looks like a potato, who knew? Awesome video, God bless 🙏
Some of the murals in Freak Alley are actually replaced every year or two, and people apply to take part. Our son participated a couple of times when he was younger. Also, if you ask a native, it's pronounced bound rather than Boy-Z. Boise is a great place to live for the most part.
It's not "bound" . It's " BOY-see "
My auto correct changed it, and I didn't catch it. It was supposed to read "Boy-C" and not "bound."
We are over on the coast in Bandon Oregon, hope to see ya''ll
Ice wine is best for dessert... With ice cream. Amazing!!!
Oh that sounds like a perfect pairing!
Quite a few years ago we did a road trip around Idaho (threw a dart at a map and went where it landed). And I’m so glad you guys caught a good feel from Boise, we loved it too! Our favorite places were just random roadside hot springs and Craters of the Moon!
When y'all started describing that ice cream potato, I started to puke a little bit in my mouth... but then when you explained, I now think it's on my bucket list.
Hahaha, glad we could turn your tummy upside down and then right-side up! We were also very happy when we figured out it was ice cream and not a real potato 😂
Fun to see my home state in these videos - I moved to FL a couple of years ago, so it's been memory lane. Boise is a lot of fun, cool city - if you guys are still in Idaho consider heading up toward McCall and look into Burgdorf Hot Springs - you won't be disappointed.
I have never in my life seen anyone go that hard at an Anchovy. I was in shock ......Then the taste hit.....🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That was awesome.
Ooh that cocoa powder looks like hot chocolate mix, or Nestlé 's Quik ! I love Boise. There was a A&W right by the freeway at Overton overpass exit. It was great
