Baavan Akhri/Bawan Akhree - Sikh Paath + English Translation & Transliteration SHUDH UCHARAN HD

This Baani was firstly recited when a Pandit from Kaanshi came to Sri Amritsar Sahib to meet Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji.
He requested Guru Sahib to bless him with the spiritual meanings of the 52 letters of the Sanskrit alphabet. Upon his request, Guru Ji recited this Baani and elated the Pandit with Brahamgiaan.
The second time this Baani was recited around 1647 Bikrami when Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji created the Sri Taran Taaran Sahib Sarovar.
The Bavan Akhri is a beautiful bani (composition) written by the 5th Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj for his wife, Mata (Pious Mother) Ganga Ji.
One day when Guru Ji was preaching Gurmat (Sikh philosophy) to a congregation, a rich merchant made an offering for a necklace worth 900,000 rupees.
The whole city of Taran Taaran was talking about this very expensive necklace. Many rich women in the city came to see the necklace and loved it.
The women convinced Mata Ganga Ji that she needed the necklace, as she was married to the most important person in the area.
Mata Ganga Ji was feeling insecure, and she wanted to look presentable & feel good about herself.
Guru Arjan Dev Ji then started uttering this very bani, and such was the influence of this bani, when she listened to it once, it was immediately in her heart and she memorized it immediately
This bani is for both men and women, and it teaches us about the fallacy of permanence in this temporary world.
One should perform Panj Ishnan (washing feet, hands, and face) MINIMUM before reciting any Sikh prayer (better to take a bath). Satguru is with us at all times.
