Love how you and Dave got to go around and get a lot of Ernie's cool stuff on video before we cleaned up the place, couldn't thank you enough for doing what you do. Its because of you now since Ernie's finally retired to God's logging grounds, that people who have never met or even seeing him can actually truly see what he was like at least on video. To me it's like a little piece of Ernie still lives on and he will be there forever on the internet for all to see. He may have been a very humble man but he did very big things in his lifetime and made a lot of great friends along the way that stuck with him from the day they met him. Once again thank you Dan, and I'll keep pressing Dave so we can get an interview out of him for ya.
God bless all those hard-workers and their families in the forest industry, they are the true backbone to this country. JH

Company I worked for back in the day drove their Washingtons around fully lined up weighing 200-300 k until they got stopped one day when the DOT decided those days were over. Then it was strip the lines and pull the tube to get legal. I towed one home with the guy line truck when the “travel” box croaked. No cdl for either of us, just go.

I remember that lol. I was working there. Before that I worked for Buz Munn. He had one of these Madill 052's only it was mounted on a tank undercarriage.

You found Ol Wheelie! Was loading with it this morning, I bought it for loading right of way wood in '17 from Greg Frank out of Rathdrum Idaho. Hauled it straight from him to lake Ozette and started loading with it. I bet it's loaded 6-8mmbf since I bought it

Very impressive Daniel, couldn't even begin to imagine being in the yarder engineer seat flippin the levers and given it the go ahead! Verry impressive piece, thanks buddy for another great video of logging history of a 90' spar.

Back in the mid seventies, I worked as a young parts guy at Western Equipment in Eugene, Or. Sold quite a few ciutch air bags for the Madill yarders. Todd Konoske the retired trucker.

Interesting how the vehicle looks new but unusable at the same time.
