As a white kid (Italian but whatever) my folks would buck at my insistence on jamming the volume to 10 when 3 Feet High ANYTHING was on Yo MTV Raps. Funny, we didn't know racism, we didn't care about social ANYTHING...it was just the best, the music, and the flavor. This track has been part of making it through the 2020's, Covid and all the strife we all seem to choose. Wish we could all just be Buddies. We'd get so much more done positively positive!!
My youth in the Tunnel and at Kilamanjaro's. Those were the days: Elephant Bells and worn in Doc Martens for guys and girls so you could get your groove on!
Released in 1988, and I was a junior in high school. I’ll never forget the moment the DJ played this at the dance. It’s 2022 and it still sounds just as good. This is back when music made you feel good.
Rap was rock'n 'round the clock, man. I gets me like a friendly, end-of-the-day Jamaican vibe when I listen to this song. I love Black geniusness put in music. Very upbeat 💯💯💯💯💯
Everyone from high school says when they hear this song they instantly think of me.....thats how much i played this song back in the early 90's. My all time FAVORITE!!! #REALHIPHOP

It's so hard to put into words how great this whole crew was back in the day. Being in the yard and blasting this jam on a sunny Friday afternoon before you get ready to hit the clubs later that evening.
In the middle of quarantine I close my eyes and drift to the 90's I'm entering a house party and this is playing. Wish I was an adult during this time.
I remember buying this Album just before the summer of 89. I was so blown away by it that I bought another copy and sent it to my boy down south. everything about De La's sound was different and not many people understood then, but they would years later... Pure HipHop...

I remember walking thru the Slauson Swap Meet, Dec. 1990, has just put some bumpin humps in my 1984 Coupe and needed something to make my truck rattle. I heard this bumping the Swap Meet hard, and they had the shit on repeat! It was the only tape I bought that day, and I rolled out with it on blast! You could hear me coming 6 blocks away, nothing to me can out bump this track, until the Chronic dropped...👊🏾👌🏾💯
it’s a shame you can’t find any of de la soul’s classic albums in any streaming service or itunes due to copyright sampling issues from their original works
Sonic Odyssey it’s actually because the contract they signed with their record company specified that none of their songs could be streamed digitally, obviously it wasn’t something they noticed or just didn’t think was an issue
Took a chance and turned my radio to the 5 best contemporary rap stations here in the Dmc, for an hour, believe me, NOTHING BUT STRAIGHT GARBAGE!! Super quality raw rap mucic like this... We're yearning for!!
