    I just bought one of these a few days ago and have been experimenting and today at the farm shop I bought a chicken. So it’s chicken for dinner. Thanks for your video.

    The string should be removed before cooking to allow the heat and air circulation between the legs, wings and body this gives a more even cooking and ensures that in these gaps the meat is cooked.

    i dont preheat. i cook on a non stick halogen pan on 180c. I cook it for one hour on then i add roast potatoes and parnsips. so by 90minutes you have a lovely roast chicken with cooked veg.

      you do have to preheat if the device is new. then clean it before using it the first time bc ofcourse there might be toxic fumes involved when using it the first time.

    • @plsisk73
      @plsisk73 Před 3 lety

      I’ve had one like this for over 8 years and have had zero problems and no failures. It also does up to a 14 lb turkey that will really impress your guests, too! I buy extra 12-14 lb turkeys on sale to keep in the freezer for year-round turkey dinners!
      Out of the box, it has a stand with handles that cradles the bowl and keeps it raised off the counter. This allows it to be moved when hot. The lamp and fan are in the cover/lid and that’s all you need to cook almost anything you bake or fry. I did a cake in it but the mix might have been old cause it didn’t rise well...
      The included accessories are the extension ring that you will often use (and when you store the cooker, the bowl fits inside the ring and that fits in the cradle I mentioned above), two baking racks, one with 1 inch legs and a taller one, that allow you to keep food out of the juices and cook on two levels at once, a pair of tongs that allow you to lift the baking trays out, and a round solid baking tray. I use that tray on the bottom to catch drippings but you don’t need to. When not in use, all of these accessories nest in the bowl - to include the power cord - and you store with lid on or flip the lid to reduce the height for lower shelves.
      It’s a great appliance to have on hand and can be stored in a cabinet or on a pantry shelf. (And it doesn’t heat up your kitchen!!)

      Hello, I have just seen your message, but it is exactly as Phil Sisk says in the reply to your comment.
      "The included accessories are the extension ring that you will often use (and when you store the cooker, the bowl fits inside the ring and that fits in the cradle I mentioned above), two baking racks, one with 1 inch legs and a taller one, that allow you to keep food out of the juices and cook on two levels at once, a pair of tongs that allow you to lift the baking trays out, and a round solid baking tray. It doesn't look like Russell Hobbs make it any more, I cant find it on Amazon or anywhere else, but there are plenty of other brands that are available, and I believe all do very much the same thing, in the same way.
      I hope you get one and love it as much as I love mine!

    Can you cook potatoes in with the chicken

  • @maryhildavanrooyen6328

    I bought mine today - haven't opened it yet, what sort of cookware is suitable - I am very limited. In some views I see a lot of cooking done with the use of foil. Is that more to keep the oven clean, or a necessity in some types of foods being cooked? Please advise.

    • @Varanization
      @Varanization Před rokem

      Should have self cleaning option - add 100 ml of water and let it run for 10 mins on 'thaw' menu. If it really is dreadfully dirty add a little washing up liquid. Do you need to be told not to put cold water into the thing when it is hot? Be spectacular if you do but really, don't. Wait til it's cold.
