  • Tommy Robinson has been jailed for 13 months after breaking contempt of court laws for streaming a Facebook Live outside Leeds court.
Since his imprisonment there's been mass protests to #freetommy, claiming he's a victim of censorship.
We explain who Tommy is, why he has been sent to jail and why his imprisonment is more about the right to a fair trial than freedom of speech.

No. The trial was over. The jury had already reached it's verdict.
And Tommy, mindful of the potential problems, had asked the court before hand if there were any reporting restrictions on the case and there weren't any so he didn't commit a crime.
And Tommy didn't plead guilty to the alledged reporting offence as was reported here.
But apart from that........... the BBC and the rest of the main stream media got it absolutely right🤪🙄 - which is why you shouldn't trust their biased propaganda. Citizen journalism is often more reliabe for news information these days'.

I dont think thats right, we should all have the right to free speech and he could not have possibly affected the trial as the jury’s are cut off from all media leading up to the court case. This is a matter of a government trying to suppress a people from calling out the truth about islam. So, this is a lie "His lawyer (the original one he had) was told she did not need to rush to Tommy's defence because he'd be 'released without charge'.", as the solicitor would NOT have gone to court, he would have advised a BARRISTER, which Tommy got.
You ignore the fact that Tommy PLEADED GUILTY tocontempt of court, having brokenthe terms of his license, eh was returned to prison to carry out his original 10 month sentence.

When asked to provide any examples of bias reporting compared to Sky, ITV, Channel 4, or Channel 5 they inevitably stay quiet. The fact of the matter is the Conservative party have a long standing opinion that the BBC are bias towards them, so much so they have questioned several BBC chairmen & threatened time & time again to review their revenue stream, which is coded language for abolishing the licence fee. Not once to my knowledge has the BBC been found to be in breach of its charter.

A man accused of sexual assault, badgered and harangued by the press during his trial. By arresting him after the Police Officer said to him that it was okay to film there, the show put on by the Police and the Judge would do more harm to influence the trial than him standing there filming.
Oh and him pleading guilty is not worth noting, it is irrelevant to what we are saying. He was unjustly sentenced to jail by a corrupt system. His solicitor was told he was being released, he was whipped through court and given a useless lawyer who advised him to plead guilty. So him saying he plead guilty doesn't mean jack!

The case was NOT already done, that is where almost every Robinson supporter has got it wrong. There were other cases at different locations that were linked to the trial where the offense took place. These cases were still ongoing and had any juror at any of those trials heard Robinson's report it would have stopped the case(s) dead in its tracks and the case(s) would have had to be retried from the start with all the expense that would have entailed.
