I'd go with a production builder any day over a local contractor. Those are some of the real horror stories I have heard - stealing $50k deposits from people...going bankrupt....no chance of people getting their money back
I'm in the middle of a horrible example of a builder taking advantage of us right now. It is an absolute nightmare and there is nothing that can be done. It is like we are being robbed in broad daylight.
