    Thanks for the video I have purchased my stator but haven't had the balls to do it yet. My battery light is on but my bike starts fine runs fine no lights dim or anything.

      @@poison6903 cool, how many miles do you have? Picked up my GV on Saturday needs some work, stator went out on previous owner and it sat for 5 years. got it running yesterday after cleaning the carb.

      @@PRL1290 I picked this up as a project. Had no spark, no fuel and some electrical components where disconnected so I'll be making some videos as I bring it back to life. I haven't checked on the miles to be honest hahah. Also this is the RI so it comes with a fuel injector.

      @@poison6903 Just swapped my stator today, Thanks again for the vid it really helped out, one thing i did different, I removed the stator cover and left the water pump and lines attached, i just swung it out cleaned the old gasket off, replaced the stator and reinstalled. I also used a breaker bar to pry the cover off, I levered it against the tire and that bottom left ear of the stator cover, it took some persuasion but it broke free.

    As a retired mechanic, it's generally a very bad idea to wedge a screwdriver between two halves of a cast aluminum case. In 99% of cases, the OEM will have provided a pry point or something to push against. The other option you could have used in this case was to put the long "swingarm" bolts back in their holes and use them as a handle to wiggle and pull. You should have also filed smooth the damage you did with the screwdriver to the casting. Thinking that the sealant will keep it from leaking is dreaming.

    at 9:20 do you see the little gears with pin top left? Mine are really loose. My flywheel and stator disintegrated..? Confetti alfredo. I haven't been able to get the flywheel off yet. I have the exact same bike also.

    It's easier to have the bike up on a deck or jack so it's at good working height saves busting your back and legs

      @@walijumaat2158 First thing I would check for see if the battery is fully charged. On my model if my battery is 11.9 volts it wont start. My starter will just "click-click-click" I would need to get it fully charged in order for the starter to engage. You can also remove the started and test it outside the scooter by connecting 2 wires directly from a fully charged battery. If you see the gear come out and rotate then it's still good. If the gear doesn't push out then it's time to replace

    So I followed the video and replaced the stator, now the bike doesn’t even crank at all, it took me a long time to get it replaced and now it’s a bigger problem. If you have any suggestions or recommendations it would be very helpful.

    • @poison6903
      @poison6903  Před rokem

      Make sure your battery is fully charged and your starter wire is connected properly. If it clicks and no turn then try hitting your started with a hammer/pole if it engages then that tells your that your starter is going out and getting stuck.

      @@poison6903 I took the starter off and it spun freely, it doesn’t have a out function like most vehicles, it just spins the gear and stays there.

      The impeller is reversed threat. Meaning that you have to turn right to loosen it instead of left. Please elaborate on the large wheel pin. Do you mean the nut that holds the wheel in place?

      On these normally at the other end of the HT cable to the spark plug. Only about the size of a small packet of cigarettes.

    Why did you drain the coolant? It was unnecessary to dissembly the stator.

    How come when you removed cover it had no stator at all ? Your video editing really shabby! You didn't even show how to check both stator and pick up! Or proper way to clean gasket surfaces, and using silicon ? Really? Hack Job !!

    • @poison6903
      @poison6903  Před rokem

      I had already removed the stator prior to the video, that's why you didn't see all the oil draining out nor the coolant. The silicon is used to hold the gasket in place so it won't shift when you reinstall it. You can use a blade to remove the old gasket or a metal brush what ever you prefer. If you have a better way to clean the gasket surface please share in the comments to help out others that are ready to do this job themselves 👍
