The Italian Shipyards fit theres with a high pitched alarm that is earsplitting. the Ship horns are also generally the same way. one yard uses one kind, another yard uses a diffrent kind
That is the same sound as the abandon ship sound so people know what it sounds like. The make it play on the Intercoms and the air horns so you can hear them on board and surrounding ships can hear them declaring "Abandon Ship". Usually if something as to happen the Coast Guard is alerted electronically and they make a broadcast over the radio.

go into the search and type in, "Norwegian Gem maiden voyage" and at 1:09 you will hear the gem's horn wich sounds similar.

No Celebrity Cruises actually uses a horn alternate from the one's that the shipyard use.Same thing with Fincantieri all ships havedifferent horns
