I started car camping last year after watching a few of bob wells' videos on his Cheap RV CZcams channel. I've been a tent camper for years and was instantly sold on the minimal setup, warmth, dryness, and security of car camping. I started off with privacy/bug screens for my car windows and added the hasika tailgate tent this year for more ventilation and roominess. LOVE IT! My car's a hybrid so i save HEAPS on gas and can run lights, charge my phone, have heat and AC if need be all off my hybrid battery. It's a whole new, very convenient and comfortable world of camping for me! Highly recommend!

Very nice informative video. I was just looking on Amazon when this popped up and I began searching for video's - voila' here you are doing a good review of it. It is definitely something that would have worked for me when I was car camping in Florida last winter at the National Forest camp ground. It was a little too chilly to pitch a tent and hammock - so I slept in the car - it would have given me just that extra bit of room. Very nice. I love the screen too for those warmer nights to keep the bugs out and still enjoy the night sounds. Thanks.

If that had zip sides on and a groundsheet sewn in It would have been perfect, i'd buy one now. Looks good for day trips for the wife and I. I shall bare it in mind and keep looking for one with zip open sides. Thank you for the video. I've never explored this avenue to our camping. Given me ideas here now.

Most campgrounds have a toilet. However, there are several types of portable camp toilets on the market.
For emergencies, I use a toilet bucket with a lid.
Garbage bag in it and a layer of cat litter pellets.
Could the door be closed when attached ? Let's say I'm in a festival and I don't want to remove the tent to close the door when I'm leaving for a little. Thank you

I just bought this exact setup the only thing I'm worried about is I have a tailgate and it looks awfully tight around the vehicle's rear and I hope it works for me

When it rain doesn't the rain water come through the gap between the car roof and the Tent???
The tent goes up onto the roof. There may be some leak or run off so I use a small tarp on the inside. Check this out.

It’s a coated nylon. I’m sure it’s waterproof. But haven’t had the opportunity to test it in the rain yet.

It was forecasted for rain the last time I went out but…… No Rain! I’ll let everyone know as soon as the weather allows. 👍
You just need to use a hose to simulate a rain/ controlled environment..... I think its quite silly to wait for rain to test...
